1. Samsung produces the Isocell sensor for their flagships and asks Sony to make the equally spec'd custom Exmor counterpart, presumably to deal with their limited sensor production capacity.
2. Sony then makes a generic version of the sensor and sells it to other companies.

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2020Lol rooting the phone doesn't cause any hindrance to workin... moreDon't talk about something which you have no idea about. Root makes the device to be vulnerable to both physical and software problems.
This is why manufacturers void warranty if you root your phone.
This can be perfectly explained by an example : Antihistamine drugs.
Taking this drug will help you avoid allergic problems and it will also decrease your body's defense against infection.
Anyway, You believe what you gotta believe. Just don't spread these confused lies to others.

Rooting simply unlocks privileges that are locked by default.
But yeah several apps which cannot run without root & certain features can be unlocked only with Root.

You are clueless buddy. Don't talk about things you have little understanding about.
Every OS (Android or iOS or Windows is less secure our of the box).
On Android you can have granular level of controls with respective to security via root. Stock OS simply doesn't cut it. What the other guy said is completely true.

Lmao, 09 Mar 2020What a joke. you're clueless on anything mobile related. Ev... moreI don't root my phones, for security reasons. Some banking apps will NOT work if things like Knox is tripped or beta software is installed and the security is/has been compromised.

Nowadays you don't need to root, as many people on xda say. I really don't give a stuff what an immature person like you thinks TBQH.

If someone side loads an app(s) on to a Huawei device and they then get money/personal information stolen via a back door, then all I can say is that they rightly and richly deserve what's coming to them.

Everything's got backdoors and exploits, especially OEM software..( stock aosp isn't safe as well ) which means that unless you're running your own ROM, you will be susceptible to big brother controled rogue commands whether you sideload an app or not.

I had a question about these Isocell and Imx scheme for long time.
I know they produce same quality image. But that's not my point.
How is that two company make the same sensor ?
Who is designing the sensor actually ?
Samsung's been the first phone to have dual pixel PDAF. Sony didn't use that sensor untill last year, Google pixel releasing the same year but 7 months after Galaxy S7 didn't use that sensor.
These raise a question, Are these sensors designed by Samsung ?

                    Thanks for the info.

AnonD-754814, 06 Mar 2020But I think this year they are using only IMX 555 this year. The exynos variants of Galaxy S20 and S20+ use Isocell S5K2LD. Exactly the same specs though.

Just thinking about the refresh rate on this series, why don't they offer a choice of 60, 90, 120Hz?

The 90 option giving a balanced option of smoother scrolling, without eating the battery as fast as the 120Hz.
