They should start making some more competitive products.
A Pocophone-like phone should sell pretty well under their name.
Flagship specs, low price.

If HTC wants to survive then they should make a competitive flagship phone with a price range of the latest Chinese Brands like One Plus, Vivo, Realme, Oppo and Xiaomi.

Specs should include Dual Sim with 5G support, front and back gorilla glass 6, 1440*2160 amoled screen with 6.5 inch, 120 htz Display with HDR10+ support, dedicated micro sd slot, 8GB DDR5 ram 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, Snapdragon 865 processor, 64 MP Quad Camera with dedicated wide angle, telephoto, and macro lens with OIS support ( should include everything like 10x optical zoom, 50x digital zoom, 960fps super slow-motion ). Dual front camera ( 32MP+ 8MP with OIS ), Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, InfraRed, UD fingerprint scanner, 4500mah battery with 50 watts wired and 27 watts wireless charging.

With all these specs included and launch with a price tag of 750$. I bet it will get sold with a piece of cake.

They should just focus on gaming industry. That is the only thing they good at for now. Drop the phone business dear HTC.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2020"Created" is more suitable word. Their devices circa 2010 ... morewell, they did make goodlooking phones back then, so they have the right to mock samsung for the bandaidish s5. mind you i was a samsung fan then, at least for their note series. i had this need for the s-pen then, so eventhough i got the note 2, i was very much hoping i decided on the one x instead. i would say while sony mobile back then was producing rather bland but goodlooking industrial designs, htc was experimenting with premium hardware and functional designs.

one of the best flagships i had was HTC Desire
it's got even optical "mouse", so cool. You could scroll the screen without covering the content by finger.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2020No one will buy phones like these in 2020. For a failing co... moreUm...audio? Metal unibody with total device protection (unlike the glass sandwiches that are out there)? IR Blaster (which is nowhere near a device in the US now)? Lower prices than LG, Sony, and Samsung for the not-so-bloated US market? Take your pick. The US is the one spot where HTC can excel.

Now if they should at least do a 5G mid-ranger, that wouldn't be bad. Like an HTC U13 Lite but with a headphone jack, lower IP rating, and Dimmensity processor but I stand by what I posted.

Their devices circa 2010 were amazing. Even after that, I've had joy using HD2, HD mini, Desire HD, Legend, even wildfire was a joy to use and handle. Then came other players and started offering better choices for lower prices, and suddenly you'd see HTC making fun of Samsung for making a phone look like a band aid, while offering a mediocre alternative. And going down after that.

I do hope they recover, but seems highly unlikely now

I still use a smartphone from HTC and I think that HTC is creating the best smartphones of good quality.

From the first beginning HTC was developed for very few customers, but That very few can't make HTC survive any more. Long time ago I suggested to merge with any of Oppo. One+ or even LG. Otherwise even the Vive VR will have the same end as the mobile decision.
Because it is also not for everyone.

First android device, for me, was HTC desire. Still got it, it still runs, still charges. From 2010. Remember, the Pixel photography was taken by Google, and it's the platform that they based the Pixels on. The directed audio recording that Sony use, HTC we're doing years ago. Shame.

Well like Motorola has been bought by Lenovo or Sony Erricsson has been bought by Sony maybe Apple or Samsung would and could buy HTC.
If the reports will go downfall more and more over time they will have no other choice just this one.
