This is basically from IHS:
https://t... moreI've checked the data provided in which you never actually even tried to analyze yourself. Data provided is from 2018 (as stated in the graph), FYI, not that it is really relevant but it's good pointing out. IF you actually checked the data provided, AMOLED pricing were bloated due to depreciation factor because of course as we all know AMOLED depreciates a lot because it is ORGANIC but whose the one tanking the depreciation cost for AMOLED smartphones? The user, not the manufacturer unless the manufacturer produces the displays for their own use. Remove the depreciation:
_____________________LCD vs OLED (both 5.7" 2890x1440)
Indirect expense________1.04___0.89
Personnel_____________1.42___2.39
Yielded Module Materials__9.43___5.66
Yielded Panel Materials___0.97___3.27
Total (USD)___________12.86____12.21
Depreciation is an added cost mainly for forecasting. Not necessarily the one that directly affects the actual manufacturing cost. Remember that your source and data provided were mainly focused on forecasting not actual manufacturing. Thanks for proving me right even more. lol.
OLED for smartphones are way cheaper and your data even provided the fact that OLEDs are considered to depreciate a lot more than LCD. OLEDs has lots of hype, it's the only reason that phone manufacturers giving OLEDs premium price even though they're cheaper to manufacture. OLEDs are and always will be a disposable type of display for an already disposable market namely "smartphones".

DroidBoye, 21 Mar 2020IPS LCD is more costly to mass produce than AMOLEDs. This i... moreMaybe, bit not all amoled screens have same quality, even with same resolution and put on identical screen size. The best example is last year Samsung Galaxy A50, the screen is ok, but Samsung Galaxy A71 have better, brighter screen, Samsung Galaxy A80 have for 1 class better screen than those two (esp Galaxy A50), so it depents. Same goes for IPS screens and quality, to be honest, Xiaomi in their phones (with IPS tehnology) have, at best, mediocare quality, for example in Note 7, Note 8, Pocophone F1, even in Note 8 Pro. On the other hand, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11, the phones with way smaller resolution (than those Xiaomi phones above with Full HD plus), for some reason, have brighter, more saturared (similar to Amoled), screen, so clearly it's a more expensive panel in thosr iPhones without half of the screen (like in Pocophone F1), brecause of giant notch. So, who know on longer rin, is it better cheap amoled or cheap ips (amoled because of the burn in, and ips well, becauee of washed out colors, sun legability)

My sister and a good friend both have poco f1 and the display is literally trash compared to Samsung oled panels.
Maybe there are better LCDs out there but the average lcd is nowhere close to the quality of oled.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2020IPS LCD is much cheaper to replace. and to produce. I want ... moreIPS LCD is more costly to mass produce than AMOLEDs. This is the main reason why phone manufacturers were now using AMOLEDs even on midrangers because the can secure more AMOLED supplies than IPS LCD.

Two 64MP Sony IMX686 cameras as a wide/tele pairing? I am definitely interested in this news. On paper, the only thing that would be different is the focal length. Everything else from sensor size to micron pixel count should remain the same.

All members of RedmiK30 series (Redmi K30, Redmi K30-5G, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro-Zoom) come with premium metal frames, but Redmi K30 Pro-Zoom comes with AG back-frame, i.e., specially treated anti-glare glass.
