Would have been nice if it had a dedicated micro sd slot (triple slot), not that stupid hybrid dual SIM where you are forced to choose between dual SIM and no storage expansion, or single SIM with storage expansion.

Also, I really can't comprehend why until now, Xiaomi phones CANNOT ENCRYPT micro SD storage (if a Xiaomi phone does have a micro sd card slot). MIUI limitation or government mandate?

Also, I can never quite understand why a high end Xiaomi phone with latest, most powerful snapdragon processor and state of the art camera and video capability (8K) like this one and many others before it, doesn't even have Widevine L1 certification to download, view and mirror DRM encrypted movies (Netflix/Google Play Movies/Amazon movies) in high definition to a large screen TV or Projector.

Then there's Xiaomi's pathological attachment to the old, outdated USB C 2.0 hardware that doesn't allow video out on the USB type C port, while all flagship phones use the newer USB C 3.1 which enables high definition video out through a USB C to HDMI adapter.

These are Xiaomi's MAJOR LIMITATIONS that need to be addressed for it to really compete with Samsung.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2020Only 1.60 microns pixel ? Galaxy s20 ultra has 2.40 microns... moreso?

are you willing to pay the same price as s20 for redmi phone? just for 2.4 microns ... 1.6 is more than enough .. even conventional 1.12 microns was good in ideal condition.

r33fd, 20 Mar 2020Either these people have experienced some really bad Oled s... moreI am not an LCD fan or defender, until miniled get released as LCD's backlight I prefer Oled for its lower consumption and Always On Display capability.
But what you describe sound more like a definition than type of display issue, because LCD are known for their better colors while Oled are known for their better light, so I find it quite strange what you are saying here.

But after checking the specs, well it all make sense :
            Note 5 :
            Resolution : 1440 x 2560 | Size : 5.70" | Pixels per inch : 515
            K20 Pro :
            Resolution : 1080 x 2340 | Size : 6.39" | Pixels per inch : 403

So clearly here, the Note 5 simply had a higher resolution while being smaller, there is a close to 30% more pixel density, so don't look further, what bother you isn't about display type, it is actually about pixel density !

IPS LCD is much cheaper to replace. and to produce. I want my mobile to have the best camera, not to be gigantic as a brick nor to have AMOLED. Because I dont pay for shity expecs that have no functionality. Powerful mobile and camera, thats the only think most of the users want.

The difference between Oled and any LCD is like night and day.
Oled looks like it's painted and lcd looks, well like a regular old screen.

I had an Oled phone (galaxy note 4) for more than 4 and half years before I got K20 pro (also Oled) and the thing that kept me from switching earlier was how great the screen was.

Will never buy a phone without Oled or more advanced technology every again.

This phone is shaping up to be a beast of flagship killer if it price right.

Galaxy s20 ultra has 2.40 microns... moreS20U is about 2x the price that this phone will be and why should a "budget" phone have the same size pixels as a handheld dedicated camera... I feel like people are way too ungrateful and do not understand what really goes into making a phone while sacrificing as little as possible to decrease the price.

If we look at the relation hardware/quality/price you get for what you pay, sure that the K30 Pro wins that ratio.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2020Whether Redmi K30 Pro will be successful depend on primaril... moreFrom the perspective of phone-makers, they certainly prefer not to offer IPS option for their flagships. AMOLED-only is a design choice consistent with the economic interests of the phone-makers. IPS option will slow down the turn-over rate of their flagship phones. If you buy a flagship with IPS, you have the option to keep it for a good 4-5 year or longer. But if you buy a flagship with AMOLED, you are pretty much forced to replace it within 3 years if you actually care about the display quality of your phone. Here is a moving story of triumph of IPS over AMLOED:

Xiaomi Mi 6 series sold more than 16 millions, the best selling Xiaomi flagship phones ever. According to Lei Jun (CEO of Xiaomi), Mi 10 series is designed with Mi 6 owners in mind. Xiaomi has made a number of online marketing push to entice the Mi 6 owners to upgrade. But in a recent poll conducted by Xiaomi, close to 50% of Mi 6 owners are so happy with their Mi 6, they prefer to keep it for a little longer. Mi 6 owners have the option keep their phones a little longer because Mi 6 comes with IPS. Had Mi 6 come with AMOLED, most of the Mi 6 owners would have been forced to upgrade long time ago. Most of them would have upgraded to Mi 9 by now. As it is, Mi 6 owners have the option to upgrade their battery for $7 (done by Xiaomi service center) and keep the phone for another year or two.

60Hz, 20 Mar 2020For a flagship-chip based phone in this price-range (~$500)... moreWhy are you even on this website if you don't like better specs.

Hah, what can i say for my mi n... morei know is minor updates...just design, and or one or two more things, as i said if they came with the specs i mention...then is no minor, is huge...i want a stereo speakers, i need reverse wireless charging and i love the design of the K30 Pro.

For you could be minor changes, for me is HUGE changes...cause i like to have new features. My Mi9 are the best phone i have until today, and i always have high end ones, from LG V10, V30, G6 and Sony ones (cant remember the models, long time ago)...but none of them offers the same quality or features vs price of this Mi9.

Thats why, i know for sure i will be sweating for this phone until i get them, and my Mi9 could go for my wife, they love it...and...they already are using the Redmi Note 4! xD

With USB 3.1(hdmi out) it would be a total flagship killer. Unfortunately it will be only USB 2.0.
