AnonD-3196, 09 May 2012LOL at You. This is a "revolutionary" phone be... moreLOL No one does this because this isn't a hit item. No one does USB OTG aside from Nokia and very recently the Galaxy S III, that doesn't make USB OTG a "revolutionary" idea. Quite the contrary, USB OTG was designed almost a decade ago and was suppose to allow things without internet access like MP3 Players to retrieve media by connecting to a mobile phone.

The reason why only DSLR and recently PS camera's use this because most people do not need pixel oversampling to enhance images aside from professional markets.

Calling it "revolutionary" would mean that after Nokia releases the Pureview 808 every other manufacturer is going to implement their own "pureview" technology.

I'm taking the 808 but that's my personal matter. The way I see it,

Galaxy S3's forte is software, browsing, and viewing,
And 808's forte is media, camera & music... Simple enough,

Any other comment showing either 808 or S3 as the superior phone, is just plain biased, stupid or uninformed.

            Just get the Iphone.

I prefer the real 38mp oversampled photos processed by large camera sensor that PureView can provide.
I prefer the Xenon flash that help to take great photos even at darker place.
I prefer the Nokia Belle OS which allow me to connect to any PC without the need of Itune.

manurd350, 09 May 2012I completely agree with youIm a frequent traveller, and I so love Nokia for bringing this kind of device out, I am bashing Android devices not because of the Hardware but because of its behavior of sucking the battery life of devices like there's no tomorrow. I am on the road most of the time, backpacking, only Symbian devices has stuck with me so far with battery life. And yes, I have the portable battery pack which I would use less often.

Aren't you guys happy that nokia is giving us option to have a very camera in a phone? And eventually incorporating this pureview to their future phones?

Higher megapixels does not equate to higher image quality unless pixel oversampling is used. Fundamental basics of Camera's still holds true, bigger sensors = better quality images. Care to show me any proof that a higher Megapixel camera with smaller size image sensor and no pixel oversampling can produce a better images than a lower megapixel camera with a bigger sensor?"

Agreed. So 808 wins all other smartphones since 808 has a way bigger image sensor and smaller aperture than any other smartphones in the market, no? Why are you contradicting yourself? -__-"

"But people dont buy a phone just for taking photos." - There are people who values a phone's photo-taking ability over other functions. You shouldn't generalize all smartphone users with 'people'.

"People need bigger screens with high resolution hd displays for watching movies and videos." - Then they should be looking at tablets instead of phones, e.g. The New iPad.

"They need a large Random access memory (Ram) for multitasking and web browsing" - Comparing to N9, the quard-core 1GB RAM monsters available in the market now doesn't even do real-multi-tasking. -__-"

"They need quadcore processors and faster gpu's for playing hd games" - This would apply strictly to avid gamers who I people do not represent the majority of the global smartphone users.

"They like a slimer phones, they like to costomize their phones and create shortcuts" - Symbian phones are well-known for their straight-from-the-box customization possibilities, no? Look around. Do you believe people who knows how to jailbreak/root their phones represent the majority of smartphone users?

"They want a huge stock of apps for their phones like ios and android." - I dare say a significant portion of smartphone users only require the bare necessities, as long as they are of great quality.

"People want a device with famous software and hardcore hardware specs." - Oh come on.. Symbian is a great OS. The problem with Nokia's previous Symbian phones is that the processor and RAM can't keep up. 41MP isn't hardcore hardware specs?

"Thats why most people will not buy pureview. Pureview indeed is a unique device and has got many admirers but unfortunately less buyers." - I believe whether or not there will be as many admirers as buyers will depend on the pricing on this device. However, 808's sales has already been placed at a disadvantage before launch because of Nokia's declining reputation and Elop's decision & announcement to kill Symbian.

Just to clarify, I'm no Nokia fanboy. I'm using a Tab 7.7 currently and I used to own a Tab P1000 before this. I do root my Tab and flash custom ROMs. My gf owns a pink S2 and my brother and sister owns Tab 7.7 too. If anything, I am more pro-Samsung than Nokia, but facts are facts. Lastly, if 808 is gonna be priced similar to a reputable DSLR, I will definitely go with the DSLR over 808. =)

This is a "revolutionary" phone because nobody else has done what nokia made by building 808. As You said the tech was already there on DSLR cams, but just there. You cant be that stupid to ignore the fact that nokia got DSLR image/video quality into a smartphone.

No android or iphone can even dare to match the quality and perfection that the 808 gives with their images.

Android and Iphone can have dual/quad core phones, 4.* screens, and such, yes I agree that, but they cant build a phone with better image/video quality and perfection as the 808 has.

If you are going to troll around, at least get a pair and sign your own comments.

                                        You must be kidding me.

Nokia Belle OS is by no mean crappy at all.
In fact it is really stable and buttery smooth.
OS option is a individual preference.

Saying it is a brick is just over exaggerating.
I am so sure that a lot of others will get this phone for their own reason.
Well in fact it really does have the best camera and flash in the smart phone market.
