The Last Oracle, 26 Mar 2020When Sony starts using Samsung Image Sensors, you know Sams... moreNah, they need to keep prices within more tolerable levels, so they need to make the sacrifice of downgrading to Samsung's level of image quality to do that.
If price isn't an issue, Sony could've used Exmor sensors in all of its cameras instead, and the quality will be better, as always.

the 2 phones I am considering with my iphone 11 pmax are the LG G8 thinq and the sony 1 II cause of the dac and headphone jack, but looking at them now, it is tipping toward LG due to the battery size. Now just waiting for the unlocked version of LG to be released

I doubt it would cost more than $15 per unit.
I'd rather pay for for exmor only.
If HM1 (the best isocell) is inferior than many exmor.

Samsung says this sensor is 20MP 1/3.4".
It has to be another one, maybe same of last year.

Imx557 is exclusive.
Imx363 is one used by Pixel 3 and U12+.
Selfie is same of 1.
The weird thing is on Samsung website the ISOCELL S5K3T2 is described as 20MP 1/3.4" tetracell, not 8MP 1/4" ....
Sony website says it has 8MP 1/4".

Ultrawide is good though, same as the main sensor of pixel 4 and LG v50.
