Anonymous, 31 Mar 2020Lower score than phones that use 1/3.4" for ultra wideThat's because DxOMark regards a wide field of view as the most important factor for UWA camera, then everything else comes distant second. They managed to improve the score by 9 points even though it uses identical hardware as Mate 30 Pro for the UWA camera, I think that's a quite impressive feat and definitely worth praising.

I just saw a camera test comparison between P40 Pro and Note 10+ and the Note10+ took the best and most detailed photos, except in low-light.
So I don't think the DXOMARK score is correct. I think P40 Pro is on the same level as P30 Pro and Mate 30 Pro.

Don't you ever trust in that kind of benchmarking,yes let say that the huawei has a superior camera but again dxomark is not one of the legit form of benchmarking.

But right here on GSMArena review they concluded that while it is good, it isnt best camera out there. And now Dxomark says that it actually is. How come?

Except for the quality of the video recording, it really seems that this handset deserves to get 1st rank for camera quality. It'll teach Samsung a lesson or two on how to make a good camera. S20's camera is not too special as it's handicapped by decent sensors and poor chipset with average camera processing (users have experienced lag in 8K at 24fps recording). And S20 Ultra isn't anywhere in DxOMark's chart.
