Actually it's likely not a quad pixel sensor as Oppo said (at the presentation) that their smartphone is the first(!) one with this autofocus technique.

Not only does the OP 8 Pro use it, it uses both of it's 48mp sensors and improves them on the software side with better night mode and post-processing. The only thing they needed to improve on video wise was voice recording quality that was barely average if they have him prove that as well ban these two phones will be hard to be even by the iPhone the only one that will even be in the category with these two phones will be the p-40 Pro

In terms of color accuracy, white balance, skin tones, highlights control, much better DR - P40 Pro.
I believe a firmware update will fix those nasty bits oversharpening part. At least its not oil-painting looks, like other brand does.

I don't know, but... I recently went to a smartphone sales centre and did a camera comparison between this Oppo and my daily-driving Nokia Lumia 1020. I did manage to sneak all the photos that I captured from the Oppo by sending them to my Nokia via Bluetooth and brought them back home for further analysis. Two things I did notice with the Oppo: The colours aren't punchy enough and the photos are somewhat rather noisy. Even with manual settings, it still wasn't enough to beat the Nokia.
Hmmm... I'm in a dilemma right now. Till this day, I still couldn't find any single smartphone that can outclass the Lumia's photo quality. :\

Interesting a company without imaging division would make sensor with more advanced tech than Samsung (that used to make APSC and point and shoot cameras) and Canon.
Image sensor is not easy thing like mobile cpu.

It's a shame that the phone is so tall and fat. The leather option is the only one people should buy, since we already have 99.99% of the smartphone market filled with glass phones.
