Look at its price point. Strictly speaking, it should be regarded at a high end phone in the Mid Range category. In other words, it remains very competitive with phones in the mid range category with price point below $500.00. I think there are no other phones within this price range in the market right now which will have simular spec. as this Xperia S. Even the HTC one S, being a mid range phone, does not fall within this price range.(It is some $50 dollars more expensive than the Xperia S).Therefore, this Xperia S will sure find itself a spot within the mid range and will become the King of the mid range until other phone manufacturer can come up with a phone with simular spec and also offer it at less than $500.00

All of this, alas, doesn't stop the Xperia S from having woefully inadequate specs for a 2012 mobile, rendering it virtually obsolete by the end of the year...

It'll be updated just in time for the release of the Sony Hayabusa / Mint - and then the Xperia S will be all but forgotten...

Im not that much in a hurry really. The gingerbread version of the xperia s has its own merit and it looks much newer than SGS2's version. so i hope if the ics is to come out it comes out with the same personalization as the gingerbread on the sony. Otherwise im sticking to this version

Anonymous, 15 May 2012@yeip what 'real' support are you talking about?Maybe 'real support' was not a precise enough term. What I mean is that they're rolling out the ICS updates for the entire Xperia line and not just for the best three phones in the line. This is something Samsung, LG, Mot and HTC have failed to do. They worry more about their customers replacing their old handsets with new ones, even if those are old but capable devices.
