I have an HTC ONE X actually second one now (first one was replaced) they are both very bugy. Lags overheat, freezing etc. I also have the Galaxy Nexus which also runs ICS and that is bugy as well. I have used my wife's xperia s for 2 weeks and no problems at all. Maybe Sony is taking longer to make ICS better on their devices.

AnonD-24543, 15 May 2012To be honest, my Xperia S has been performing fantastically... moreAgree completely. Been playing with ICS on other devices and it seems buggy and no massive benefit personally. My Xperia S is silky smooth and so I don't mind waiting for ICS if it means it will work better than HTC & Samsung.

Thanks Sony, though to keep us posted with official comms please

i really not that excited to get ics os. After seing all my friends update their os to ics.. more lagging and slow respond. Not only sony but other brands also. What i can see what ics can offer just fancy notification, fancy task, all just only for your eyes plasure only. Google should come out os with minimun usage of ram and processor. If other os can so u google...

art, 15 May 2012And the ICS sw is officially Sony. You can google and find ... moreTry to remember that all the forementioned devices are single-cored, and are considered to be low-range nowadays.
Imagine that my friends SGS II lags with ICS...
It is still a bit "early" for ICS me thinks.

Recently I have updated my Xperia Neo and Xperia Ray to ICS, and the results we very dissapointing. Both phones performance suffer a lot, making a call can take up to 10 seconds. I have since downgraded back to GB. And the official response from Sony if you want to downgrade back to GB is to go to their service centre. I used flashtool and it works fine. I recommend to Xperia S users, try not to upgrade to ICS unless the upgrade can really improve the performance. For the Neo V and Ray, ICS made it almost unusable. And downgrading is a real pain.

To be honest, my Xperia S has been performing fantastically smoothly and is extremely energy efficient since the last update, .73, which makes the ICS wait more than OK for me.
Myself, I do not care if the ICS update delays, as far as we get a stable release, and Sony is (at least) a trustworthy company.
I have 2 examples of friends who updated their SGS II and Note respectively, and are really disapointed with the lag and battery drain they have now.
Companies shouldnt rush in order to get attention, they must take their time and develop stable and stiff firmware.

After what ICS did to my Arc S (ruined it) I'm gonna hold off until I get 4 or 5 solid reviews about what ICS does to the Xperia S before I go changing my OS again :(

Here the Xperia S is selling more expensive than the GNote and the GNexus. Frankly I don't see any future here :s

They did the same with the x10, shipped it with 1.6 and marked it as their flagship whilst everyone else had 2.1
