Apple sues every other company...from which it fears that it would be its biggest competitor...

why is Apple sueing htc ?? coz, they are making iphone 5 with a quad core config and want that it be first fone in US with a quad core config..

After few months, wait for SGS3, it would also sue samsung against sgs3....

Apple are little kidos, who keep on crying.. grow up Apple.....!!

Apples wants the US to purchase Apple devices only... weird. So much for democracy.

"The ITC concluded that Android’s messaging app and browser infringed an Apple patent, related to the conversion of phone numbers and email addresses to links, which open menus of options."

Its weird that apple has this "patent" with regard to phone numbers, emails conversion to links when JAVA phones have this in the feature phones days. These functions should be regarded as "prior art" as different phone manufacturers from early years used these features long before apple enters the phone market.

the ability to convert phone numbers and email addresses to links? really apple? next time create patent that effect more basic thing like electricity or battery, next year in america all EOM have to use cheese to power their phone , . . otherwise they will be banned form market. good luck for fellow americans hope this problem will be solved soon.

There goes another customer choice. At the end US will left only with one option when buying phone.

Why is it that back then companies are more friendly and tolerant with each other and only sue when major copying are done but now Apple keep sueing for every little thing.

Guess that kids will stop with their "copycat" favorite word now that Apple is also blocking HTC.

As long as they don't feel threatened, Apple doesn't take any action. See first Galaxy S and Galaxy line, 1 full year and million of sales before they "realize" it's violating patents.
LG is safe, they don't sell enough to threaten anyone.

In some other news, i saw that Apple got a new patent about soft keyboards and words correction, this will really be annoying when they ll start to apply it too.

Thanks again Apple for further alienating people who already could not stand you for this sort of tripe. Please spread the word that Apple has started this stand off, and wants to hinder progress at every available turn.

if this phone is delayed because this patent, most of android should be banned. Apple just saw that people in europe like this handset, so they want to bann it in USA. LAME

                        Incredible.

This is a feature I use alot - I wouldn't want to see it dropped from any Android device. If it is no longer in debate and this is a confirmed Apple patent then HTC should pay the Piper so they can use it and move on.

With Apples exuberance to litigate the world no doubt all other brands will face the same issue, and I sincerely hope they all do the same.
