Excuse me but "under 6" isn't small. This needs to stop. This REALLY needs to stop. If you want a tablet or phablet, go buy one. I want a phone. FIVE INCHES. That's a phone. Love my Xperia XZ1 compact, but want a 5g phone. Guess I'll be waiting, cuz I'm not putting another 6 inches in my pants.

I WISH it has dual front speakers, 12MP front selfie camera with OIS, 3.5mm, full flat back (don't want any protrude on the back cover).

It's some combo of EQ and Virtual Surround to accent vocals and it sounds awful despite many people liking it and complaining when they took it off Xperia. Still available on Walkmans.
Anyway I when I go out for a walk and want to listen to some music I always bring my A35, I don't listen to music on my phone except when I stream it in my car. I see no point of having good cans and then hooking them up to some week ass dac inside a phone that can't even wake them up properly.

From my experience DSEE hx Has been very good tech to upscale the MP3s close to high-resolution audio, IMO DSEE Ultimate would even better.

The Sony WH-1000XM3 headset an... moreThey are good ANC headphones, other than that they are cheap plastic, have atrocious microphones, WF are not even sweat resistant, WH controls do not work in winter, WH ANC does not work properly in metro, they hiss.
WH-1000XM3/XM2 sound worse than 100-150$ wired headphones (DT770 for example).
ANC headphones they are great, if you do not need ANC, they are only passable ... and yes I own both, among many other headphones.
Not to mention reviews ... reviews on mobile phones sites, correct?

The Sony WH-1000XM3 headset and WF-1000XM3 headphones are being praised by every publication for their excellent sound quality. Many say they're currently the best ones available. Sony's sound division has been killing it for the past few years. Same for their camera division.
If only they could put all that expertise in Xperia phones in a more tangible way...

That might be true, they have good intentions but they are usually decimated by brands like Shanling or FiiO or even iBasso in sound quality.
Sony might have a technology, yet they are not able to use in a worthwhile fashion.
I always turn DSEE off on my Sony devices and headphones, I like to hear sound and not to add artificial base or highs, that sounds abysmal.
There is a reason why you won't find many Sony headphones that are considered as good sounding in said price range.
Sony does not even use decent DAC in their phones, they use integrated one in Snapdragon.

O... moreS20 Ultra still cannot produce whitest white, still shifts to yellow everything on slight angle shift and still pulses on low brightness. Samsung's own OLED implementation has only matured with S10 when they introduced Natural calibration but it still exhibits holographic shift if you are not staring at it on 90 degree angle. For some reason Samsung out of all flagship manufacturers is the only one to exhibit that gold/yellowish holographic shift on such a noticeable scale. I'm not sure about what color accuracy we are talking about here when your whole image goes gold on a slightest device shift unless you stare at it straight on. Color accuracy and measuring color accuracy on mobile panel is a topic on it's own from what it is actually measured to what not

It will not make your muffled 96kbps mp3 any better but it will enhance a bit of the stage on properly encoded lossy formats. So bottom line is DSEE cannot fix bad production like some EQing, it doesn't do that. It wcwns out the dynamic range and adds some sprinkle on the top. In other words you really need good headphones to hear that, no cheap AirPods, Buds, Pro, Plus, Max or whatever will give you that experience.
Sony Walkman division is really serious about their audio both software and hardware and Sony phones have lot's of Walkman software features. My preferance is to turn on Dynamic Normalize to even out the volume between tracks and Virtual Surround Studio option for a better spread. I would also suggest you to download Sony Music Center for your phone cause it has all those software features built in so your non Sony phones can utilize it. In my opinion Sony Music Center is the best sounding music app on play store.

Other than screen size, the only difference is much better battery life on the smaller device.
There is not even difference in screen quality it's all simply all about the size ... and that's great.
No compromise for Xperia 5 and if you want bigger you go for Xperia 1 II.
BUT it's a bit shame Sony is charging extra for useless 4K screen.

If you don't like/hate Sony or Xperia in the first place, please go to your (phone / OEM) of your preferences, not raiding every Sony post. Not I don't accept criticism for Xperia (I did criticize a lot with XZ2 due to enormous misstep they take during 2018), but that your comment of yours just hate.
Well, you should be grateful now putting effort back on OLED screen since XZ3 and increase that amount from 1/8 of their models with OLED in 2018 to 2/5 in 2019 and now 2/3 in 2020 by the time of writing (will bring that fraction up with 5 II release in Q3)

If your taste is Xperia 5 II over Xperia 1 II, that's fine. But, I do prefer Xperia 1 II as this phone is the one with specs with the highest specs in Sony Xperia lineup (especially after owning XZ Premium)
