Why would any Apple fun buy a phone that is only 4.7 inches big, and yet too overrated and too expensive anyway...oh nevermind that anyway haha!

Also depends on location S10e is not even sold anymore and even if you managed to find it, do you realized that in most part of the world it will be Exynos version not SD version? Lets be honest Exynos 9820 vs A13 is not even a contest. Then don't forget that S10e already got Android upgrade once. That means you will only get one more for Android upgrade with most likely another year for security updates. iPhone SE on the other hand will get like 4 years of updates.

I'm an Android fan, but I really don't get why so many people got sooo defensive just because of this. Suddenly many of you keep throwing big numbers like screen size, battery, cameras and so on. It's like you are all afraid and starting to scare people to not buying this. There are lots of people still using an old iPhone but couldn't upgrade it due to price you know. Rather than jump to Android, with this they could upgrade their phone with lower price than before and use the ecosystem that they used to. Don't know why lots of you couldn't understand this... :/

Does Apple still sell a phone with a headphone jack? Android tablets and wearables are still being released with various vendors. When were they ever abandoned? Android phones don't just come with a high price tag. Many with flagship features are downright affordable.

It's weird how they made fun of Apple for removing features like the headphone jack & setting a record price of $1k flagships, only to screw their own fanbase by doing the exact same thing. Let's not begin how they totally abandoned android tablets and wearables, something I heavily invested in myself and now it's all dead weight. I'm not going back into that insanity. It's like they deliberately mess with their customers' minds.

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2020IKR. It's because this is the final argument the haters had... moreThat is not true. Apple is still far behind in innovation, in get the latest hardware, in add extra hardware features. You remove the cameras, that they for forced thanks to the Android pressure to add new ones, and their phones have nothing to do aside make calls and navigate.

Android is a very reach world, with a lot of gadgets to add, gaming phones, more variety of cameras, latest innovations, expandable memories, double ports, wireless charging, under display sensor and soon also cameras that Apple will only resell years later, universal standard ports for easy use, etc.

We also have the freedom to choose phones rootable and install custom ROMs with a big diversity and a great community. Apple only adapt things when they don't have other alternative but always maintaining the same margin profit so the extra cost goes to their customers. So they delay de adoption of new technology from Android due to pay less for the hardware but still asking more to their customers... And sure that under display cameras will show it. Like the slow improvent in battery, storage, the delay in adopt AMOLED technology, a bigger variety of cameras, etc, already showed in the past.

Even today the chargers inside the box from Apple are often a joke less in the most expensive model and you have to spend extra money in the faster ones. Still with the obsolete lighting port. Etc.

I'm even sure that soon Android phones will be the first ones returning to the removable batteries without lose the IP rating like some Samsung phones already have. European comision is already working to force the removable batteries design by law in Europe and also control and centralize the recycling process saving a lot of cost to customers in the future. I'll very happy to be able to change batteries again without the abusive prices of official services like the Apple one. Praising that they approve it ASAP and celebrate it.

I think this will sell pretty well. Good price point And I know several iPhone users that say the miss having the Home button.

Which would you rather have at $400, last years Samsung Galaxy s10e with 5.8" AMOLED display (compared to 4.7" inferior LCD), , 438 ppi density versus 326 ppi, 2280 x 1080 pixels (versus 750 x 1334 pixels), 6/8 gb RAM (3 gb in SE), expandable storage up to 1TB (none in SE), 83.3% screen to body ratio (compared to 65.4% with Apple SE), stereo speakers + headphone jack, dual rear cameras with OIS (compared to single camera), Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (flagship cpu last year), 3100 mah battery (only 1821 in Apple SE - lol, samsung battery is +70% larger).

Apple A13 bionic may very well be faster but we are at a point of diminishing returns, 99% of you would never be able to tell the difference in day-to-day usage. But in EVERY_OTHER_CATEGORY the Samsung S10e is a vastly superior device, with vastly better hardware, and prices are now around $370 usd that INCLUDES a 15w charger (both have wireless charging).

You can be an Apple fanboi all you like, but you can't deny there are much better phones on the market TODAY than this 8 year old design SE. In 1 year the flagship S20's will be around the $400 mark as well so there will be even less reason to get a low spec phone from Apple when you can get last years FLAGSHIP on the android side.

Here compare for yourself, if you buy the SE, then accept the flaws in your logic, accept that you are being ripped off (many by choice), but don't try to rationalize it by thinking you are getting anything other than a low-mid range phone.

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2020Your anecdotal evidence is not enough to paint android as a... moreits not just the OS, the hardware is a big draw too. android is more matured now so I would say the two OS are almost same. but iphones has better quality hardware (necessary for people like me) and run for longer without much trouble.

people are so critical about the design. I personally dont want a bezelless display. that makes the typing harder, makes the device fragile so the display has higher chance of getting broken if the phone drops. so all this bull$hit about old school design doesn't affect me much and I have several friends who dont care about that either. maybe some high school kids who always wants trendy design would hate the old school design.

everyone has priorities that they look for when they buy a phone. iphone has a lot to offer otherwise they wouldnt be sold so well.

I don't understand on many comments here. I'm an Android fan but even I could see how good this phone is.

Sure it has small 4.7 inch HD screen but still it supports Dolby vision and HDR playback with no notch. Remember how much people b*tching about notch/blob/whatever every time a new phone came? Some talking about the numbers of camera totally forgetting how good Apple is on computational photography. Not to mention this phone supports 4K 60 fps video recording that even lots of Android phones still only support 4K 30 fps.

I'm a big fan of large screen but do you guys forget how even regular midrange phones right now start to creep up to 6.4 inches and above? This phone will be a hit for kids and teenagers for their first phone. $400 on 2 years contract is just $17/month, I don't think many parents will complain on that. Remember that for that price you get a good phone from reputable brand, fastest processor on mobile world right now, stereo speakers, IP67 dust & water resistant, plus considering Apple track record you will probably get 4-5 years of software updates. Think about that advantages and compare that to Android that even $1000+ phones will only get 2 years of Android upgrades.

Really, can you not see some of good points of this phone? For me personally flagship processor, good camera, IP67 and 4 years of software support for $400 is really amazing. I couldn't think any of Android phone that could deliver all of that at $400 honestly.

[deleted post]android people keep saying this, but shouldn’t that mean also HomePod would be runaway success if people buy whatever Apple does? HomePod is perfect example that they don’t. People buy Apple products which they think have value for their life. This is also reason why Mac sales are so far behind of iOS device sales. Most people don’t want Mac, they like Apple mobile experience.

It becomes apparent, more and more, as I criticize this iphone SE (2020) and study the dialectics of its admirers, that they seemingly love the phone not because it is better than those of its competitors at that price, but because it offers usable spec at a subdued price when compared to other apple phones of higher specs and higher prices.

                                        This is disturbingly irrational.
