I just saw this thread, and it makes it even clearer that the iPhone SE is a joke for $400.

kammem2, 23 Apr 2020I dont care about camera, notch, bezelless design, usb c or... moreI also wished the screen was 5.0 to 5.2 inch for better media consumption experience and for it to accomodate a larger battery. Apple has been known for being leaders in design, but those wretched bezels and a huge home button are a disgrace. I would have bought this phone if they focussed on the product development and not using old components and a new silicon chipset to rip us off.

I guess it is all what smart users need from Apple .. Feature packed small gadget while fast running the IOS and clouds.. Unless you want to brag of bigger device.. I will go for this without a delay. (my last two phones were SE and iPhone 8).. But you can realize that old models doesn't run fast after sometime,

Lel, so many deluded Android fans keep drumming about specs and all completely forget about not everyone wants big ass phone. $400 the for fastest processor right now and 4-5 years of continous updates is cheap. Remind me again how long your midrange Android phones got software updates or remember how much people complains everytime their Android updates rarely came? Yeah, keep banging those specs and all.
There are lots of review on Youtube already. Easily full day battery with 5 hours sot with good camera but no night mode as the only weakness.

This phone will cost 500€ in my country. 2012 display, and battery which will degrade beyond usability in little to no time. The benefits from the powerful SOC are negligible in real life usage: opening Facebook 0,1 seconds faster is not what i call 'making a difference'.
Yes, updates are good and all, but 5 y/o devices with older software still work in the same exact way the newer do. Socials, messaging and a few pictures, is all what this type of phones is mostly used for. The 3y/o Huawei my father uses, is perfetly capable of that, the battery is still at 3000mAh, and it survived being washed in a sink, while turned on, not being water resistant.

Still waiting for a decent android compact phone. And no the Sony phones do not comply, for they are not phones. Had a Sony for a few months until it died. Xiaomi used to make the mi 9se, which is no longer available. The Samsung is just overpriced.

"On the plus side there are those iPhone owners that straight up refuse to leave the Touch ID home button in the past - they'll upgrade to the iPhone SE (2020) no questions asked."
This completely described my thoughts about the new SE.
I still find practicality using Touch ID, especially nowadays that wearing a flu mask is a must when going out to buy supplies. Was thinking about a year ago getting an Iphone 8 since it was the last Iphone with a 3D touch display and Touch ID. It sucks to lose the audio jack from my 6S, but seeing the bright side, it is still an upgrade in a lot of areas.

It's a good cellphone only at that price of 399 USDs in the US market but it costs as much as 550 USDs In many global markets at for that price you've got a lot of other better options

Does anyone have any idea if this iPhone SE (2020) has a Qualcomm modem or is it stuck with a crappy Intel modem like the other iPhones? I’m still holding on to my iPhone X A1865 which has a Qualcomm modem for this specific reason.

What do you think A9/10/11/12 would be any difference with this HW?
Only thing you will get in the future are some meaningless APPs, Emojis...crap like this.
Even if you get some new games, this display is going to be too small for any practical use.
Apple just had stock left + parts that they said they can't fix and had to replace for "new" ones for much higher price than actual fix.
And they decided that it is perfect time to milk those $ (you don't have) selling you parts 4years old.

It's 470$ in UAE, all android phones in UAE costs exactly the amount they announce it for whereas apple wouldn't do the same. It's 70$ more than what they advertised it for. Some may not find it a huge increment but it is almost 20% in increase than what they advertised

Never mind about "android users...mis-identify[ing] your iphone as an old jurassic iPhone 5s model", I always identify all iPhones and Androids from belonging to the pre-Jurassic era - because they both run clumsy and goofy OSes that are not fit for purpose.

I was on Zoom the other day, catching up with my mates, and my mates' mates, and their mates' mates, and the one thing I learnt was the herding bleating faithful are literally salivating and climaxing all over themselves just hearing about the announcement of the iPhone SE (2020).
They simply cannot get enough, and shall be clamouring to get their woolly paws all over this new iPhone.
For now with Spring in full flow, the customary shearing has been postponed due to the global lockdown, so these iPhonephilic creatures shall for now continue to be doubly exasperated by both their woolly jackets, and their frisky frolicking in anticipation of their purchase of the new iPhone SE.

The tiny old tech screen and super thick bezels is so last decade I can’t even bear to look at it. For $400 I would buy a Moto or OnePlus.
