PartTimePhoner, 21 Apr 2020Look, the phone is good but not worth the money.
Ugly d... moreMake no mistake, I tried the S20 Ultra (Exynos) in a phone store before mandatory quarantine was introduced (which is, somewhere late February and the phone wasn't sold officially yet).
I have to say the display quality is very good, but that's it. Camera does not even focus properly, which is an issue I found on my S10 (also Exynos) as well. 100x zoom? 50x zoom is enough and images above 50x are already blurry. Listen to many reviewers including GsmArena this is a gimmick.
Performance especially throttling hasn't improved a lot. My S10, though RAM has been cleared, feels slower than a Redmi K20/Mi Note 10 I tested somewhere else. Depending which game this phone can't even run smoothly (sometimes optimization is not to blame). Can't run HDR Extreme at PUBG Mobile, COD Mobile has frame drops at Very High graphics and framerate, Dragon Raja is capped to 30fps at maximum graphics (lv 5), Shadowgun Legends overheat at medium 60fps.
Look at GsmArena and Notebookcheck saying even S20 throttles a lot.
Fingerprint scanner is pathetic, too.
And all of this comes with the price tag of an iPhone 11 Pro Max 512 GB (plus change) or a Z Flip.
The S20 Ultra is just an overhyped device. Z Flip is much better than the useless S20 Ultra. Or even iPhone 11 Pro Max. Also Oppo Find X2 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro+. Sorry Samsung.

RIP image quality, you just get some larger numbers! No innovation, just being gimmicky

AnonD-754814, 21 Apr 2020Chinese brands are the copy-cats,
Not Samsung.Copycats? What a silly comment. Not all Chinese phones copy each other.
Huawei P30 and P40 came up with their own perfected camera hardware and it works excellently.
Redmi K20 was a different phone for young audiences.
Mi Note 10 may look a little similar to other phones in terms of design, but user experience was completely different not found in other smartphones. 108MP cam is borrowed from S20 Ultra.
Stuck with Samsung phones? Samsung may develop many components for many phones but it's starting to slip below erm...Apple

Anonymous, 21 Apr 2020high pixel is for more zoom not picture qualityNo, you can always zoom digitally as much as you want. But only a high resolution sensor will make the image quality acceptable, when you zoom digitally. Of course the details are also there if you don't zoom digitally due to the high resolution. Digital zoom doesn't give you more details. It only enlarges the details that are already there.

I hope they put these cool new sensors in all three camera variants - ultrawide, telephoto and regular camera module, not just the regular camera module, supported by crappy 2-8mp modules that can't get anywhere to the same level of quality of the main camera (which defeats the purpose of having those and paying for those.
And why not make a single awesome module with rotating mechanism that includes a bunch of optics, so that you get to keep a single module and only change optics to telephoto or wide angle? Challenging - sure, but is it less challenging to sell a $1400 phone with multiple camera modules? Or you could move the module itself, having optics locked in place.
And what happened with a back camera that could rotate to face the user, making it the best selfie camera around? That was supposed to work great for both normal pictures and selfies. They do make pop-up selfie cameras now, why not make primary module popup-rotate?

Developing a camera that can capture more details than my eyes can perceive and putting it on a device which cannot manage the data, sounds extremely useful.

Samsung is now playing catch up to the Chinese huawei, with all the promisebof a good camera, the s20 ultra struggles to zoom at 30x , cnt even talk of 50x yet they claim their devise has 100x zoom. They should jus relax and start being innovative and stop copying from others

Looks like My comment didn't catch anyone's attention, or
People here are too much Samsung hater that they are too busy slandering Samsung.
I'm saying again.
This sensor is not intended for Smartphone. There are other things where sensors can be used.
And learn to appreciate innovations.

Dear Samsung, world doesn't need 108, 600mp cameras on their smartphones. Your S10's camera sensor is enough to take stunning photos, if it's autofocus works perfect. So, please concentrate on rectifying this inconsistent autofocus issues of S10s and S20s. S20s, especially the Ultra failed to match the hype with real world performances. When the Sonys, Nikons, Canons and co doesnt need such high mp count to capture extraordinary shots, then why does a phone camera need such sensors?
