Once p40 pro+ is fully released, it will rival Samsung in zoom as well. And ah yeah, in daytime they are both incredible, its up to personal preference.

I have a Huawei P30 Pro and I really like it. If the new P40 Pro came with Google Play I would buy one.

Is this a new thing ?
If it is, then why so late ?
This should have been done in the first place.
While at full resolution, at least two picture should have been taken.
Even while bayering , multiple frames mean more detail with less noise.

They are really not that much better than on the iPhone or Samsung phone for that matter - often they are even worse - only the night time photos are better on the P40 Pro.
