iPhone SE (2020) AnTuTu scores reveal underclocked chipset

I think it is because the iphone SE only has 3gb of ram compare to the 4gb of ram in the iphone 11.. Not underclocked chipset..

They should renamed as A13L.
The performance is on par of SD 855. So is underwhelming from them now.
The battery life would be very poor. They should went to a bigger battery capacity.
I guess that the iPhone SE Plus would be the iPhone SE we wanted.

Why not just make some new chip that is around 100-150K antutu score just so it will take less power and have longer lasting battery. It will still sell like hot cakes as a smaller phone from apple. If people dont buy it to play games on it time to time then dont make it able to be with so good chip that is made for gaming mostly. Other things on phone like camera and browsing the internet dont need all this power house to work. It just dont make sense to have a need to be the best chip underclocked just to sell product for cheeps who buy it anyways cause it's a new model from there favorite brand

Underclocked chipset may be result of wanting to increase battery life, small battery not even being able to sustain A13 peak power draw, Apple not wanting it to reach power of i11/11 Pro.
Companies (Apple is certainly not an expception) do not want a "new" product to result in lowers sales for products with higher margins.
It's good people are jumping to conclusions, because something not being 100% is always a sign of a compromise.

I'm sure it's a binned A13 that can't perform like the best samples. They probably didn't bother to rename it so that dumb people think it's the exact performance of the iPhone 11, aka the newest and greatest.

At the price it cost outside USA, you can buy phones with SD865 and SD855. Good ones too. But some will always waste their money believing the advertisements that hide the reality they are purchasing.

First of all, this device still remains very powerful even with this small tweak from Apple.
Second, this tweak was not done on purpose just to lower the phone performance. Nobody has any financial gain from this. It was done purely for technological reasons, anybody who uses his brain, can understand this.
But of course, people nowadays, well.. they're people. I am pretty sure that lots of them just saw "underclocked chipset" in title and were: that's it, f**k Apple, Apple is the worst, I knew it, they did it on purpose, scam, etc.
And of course I needed some funny things to respond to such comments. I don't believe in benchmarks or charts either, I believe in using the device day by day and see for myself. That is why I think, this iphone will be very powerful and very stable phone for many years to come. Of course, for those who are into iphones.

But of course. Apple has to somehow to convince buyers the more expensive models are truly faster than the cheapest model despite having the same chip. It achieves two purposes: First, it makes the cheapest iPhone SE model's substandard, very low capacity battery last longer, while second, it keeps the buyers of the more expensive iphone models happy that their shelling out more cash was worth it.
Never mind if all that raw processing power is 100% underutilized because 99% of the time, iPhone users just use their iphones for Facebook browsing, candy crush and sending childish animojis. It's like an electric scooter fitted with a 20hp motor that is used in a walled kiddie playground. That's Apple's design strategy and iPhone fanatics love it.

If you would use something like SD855/Exynos vs. A13/A12x for encoding video, Snapdragon/Exynos would be faster in most of the tests.
It depends on the scenarion and we all know Antutu is not reliable test to show power of SOC, it's for kids and flaming in discusions.
Someone people play Antutu, others care for real performance they can get out of their device.
