He should have said the higher resolution required for 8K would not allow the phone to do 20fps AF. More resolution = less speed
Because Sony sells 8K TVs. So nowhere to watch actually is not true.

- ugly screen whole or waterdrop notch with waterfall screen like chinese and ability to display wrong/warm tones for white/gray/red/green like Samsung
- speaker beside usb
- 70W charging that will make the 4000mAh become 3300 in 8 months
- same retail price of Redmi phones
- useless 2MP macro cam instead of 2.9x Zoom, despite xperia can do macro since Z.
- gorilla 5 instead of 6
- Xperia UI to look like iOS copy (all chinese except OnePlus)
- include software to detect benchmark that will boost antutu score
- low bitrate video recording

"where would you even watch 8K video?"
This is what I said to myself, that some manufacturers started very early on 8K video, when smartphones started filming in 4K then 4K TVs were already starting to be affordable which is not the case with 8K TV. First, smartphones should film in 4K 120fps instead of this 8K bullshit which is only a gadget or just to show that they are the first

How they can have this thick face? Why Sony mobile managers can be so bad making the company having losses year after year. Pay me a tenth of his salary and I will make a much better job. Sony keep dying and its OK to them but not for me, an outsider. True fans would never let this happen.
