L4 has budget specs for near mid-range price. Most of Samsung's A series phones from last year beat it spec per spec. AMOLED, bigger RAM, better chipset.

They make is really hard to choose someone their (sees specs) Low end... (sees the price)... I mean midrange devices.

Why so angry, people? Are you all so but.hurt? You don't like it, don't buy it. But rest assured that all these "overpriced" and "outdated" Sony phones work faster and smoother in real life than your shiny, trendy right priced phones with all the "364 megapixel telephoto cameras" and latest shiny new processors with 9485555698 score in the latest shiny benchmark.
Maybe that's why you're so angry?

Battery life yes may differ, but about of design and sound and screen it's top for its price. A50 it's way too expensive for what it does. Stop fantasising and test for yourself. I have people working around with Xperia and I saw how they perform in comparisons with S-crap and others. Stop BS-ing over paper specs, they don't really matter at least for Sony products - they are better in real life usage!

Maybe battery life it depends of many factors but it's really good! L4 it's better and it can perform wonderfully. My M5 is still amazing over 5 years of great job. Buy it and stop bs about paper notes and theory.

I am still using my Xperia Z3 for about 5 years. I am thinking to replace it for Xperia 10 II but I am not sure if I could justify it. My phone still works great.

Actually had the a50 for a year now, paid 70bucks less than the sticker price from amazon. Defective phones? I had been reimbursed by Amazon after a year for a faulty Sony phone. What's your point again?
Sony screwed hard, the market shares are here as a testimony. Stop selling overpriced outdated phones in a market that changes on a mounthly basis.

I would never buy a phone with a SoC like that... except (MAYBE) in the 100e range..

Yes you can get a Helio P35 and 6000mAh cheaper than this... If it was cheaper or had a bigger battery its weaker SoC the P22 wouldn't be a issue due to longer software and update support than competing products! :D

But please go ahead get A50 with Android 10 it must be such a great phone, I heard displays on it are magnificent, you might get one that tints whole display in red or you might get one with yellow tint, it's a fun game of ooohh which one I'm gonna get when I open up a box. Hey but look at the bright side you've saved 100 euros on buying a last year model that's in every aspect worse than hundred euros more expensive 10 II. W can also talk about how A71 compares if you want to but that's out of your price range

i can see that xperia is not for you anymore, one of the reasons perhaps that they left some markets...
in the philippines, there are a lot like you, leaving retailers without xperia handsets...
gladly there is a gray market here which gives decent price... currently, xperia 5 costs similar with oneplus 7pro... galaxy s and note series need a little more than a hundred dollars...
as for the features, you might want to be more specific and if you find it in other brands, get that...
you might want to hear that there is that realme c3 that is just about 120 us dollars... it might have the features you are looking for...

Yes, the construction is good, but nowadays i dont really care anymore since i use a rubber case anyway, because a functioning phone is always better than a cracked one, in case it falls.
Their phones lack some modern features (i actually like samsung gestures, motorola motion activated functions, or the tap to wake function). Oh, their software updates support sucks. The XZ1 was abbandoned after only 1 major update. While my midrange 1y/o Samsung has already been updated to Android 10. And has a bigger screen while being the same size. And doesnt need to be charged in the afternoon.
I mean, Sony should AT LEAST bring the features competitors have, and they could price their phones a bit higher. But you can't bring a year old hardware to the table and pretend to sell it for an above premium price.
