Also while differentiating SD765 and Exynos 980, don't forget Exynos uses advance cortex A77 core while SD 765 uses old A76 core.

    That's good.

But 3 hours screen on time is a big LIE !

Vasra, 29 Apr 2020Yes, Samsung licencsed Radeon GPU IP from AMD in last June ... moreThis is good, even though it's going to take sometime before happening, just ditching exynos and use snapdragon instead is not a good solution, more competition is always good for us consumers, they just need to step up their game.

There was an article about it on gsmarena a few weeks back.

It will still take a year or two minimum to see this in their SLSI chipset, but it will likely come.

There is also Imagination Tech (UK) which does produce competitive GPU ip.

most of the people are not even aware that Exynos version is in Europe, they dont know what is Exynos or Snapdragon or Qualcomm....so whats the point?
                          massive education? :)

Good luck competing with SD865+ then. Unless they will use the stock Cortex-A77 instead of their in-house custom cores or hop onto 5nm process node, there's no way that it will be on par with the SD counterpart in both CPU efficiency & performance.

This way, fewer chips are wasted, making it more profitable for Samsung, but at the expense of increased heating/power consumption. Last year SD and Kirin were on 7nm, but Exynos was first on 8nm. Later this year we'll see everybody on 5nm BUT Exynos. Samsung made a few blunders in the past and who's to say it won't make some more? Qualcomm have already announced the jump to 5nm with the X60 modem, so it's only a matter of time before we see an SD 8xx SoC on 5nm from them, skipping 6nm altogether. Unless I see actual progress, I just can't give the Exynos team and products credit anymore.
