How does Samsung justify selling their Exynos Galaxy at a price more than Snapdragon version...especially when the Exynos under performs & overheats when doing same task as the Snapdragon... it's called daylight robbery... nothing to do with competition...
It gets even worse...In other areas the Exynos version comes with 8GB RAM with no 5G but its priced higher than Snapdragon with 12GB & 5G connectivity...
The poor S20 Ultra with Exynos has been proven to have an inferior camera than Snapdragon... this is just too much...
So is this competition between Samsung and other brands like Sony or its just Samsung clearly robbing their own customers...coz Sammy will make more profits by selling Exynos rather than Snapdragon...

in the beginning ... intel developed mobile processor because they see the future with palm, windows mobile, land blackberry ... wow ... human can do on smartphone what they can do on laptop
but ... market did not see star trek ... market saw phone, not miniaturization of laptop ... intel losing money and forced to sell its mobile processor division ... then arm was born out of intel, advance risc machine, arm, up until now stays as processor design company
long story short ... earth has major processors manufacturer
- qualcomm
- samsung exynos
- huawei hi silicon kirin
- mediatek helios
all must based on arm which is only as processor design company, except for apple bionic
funny thing ... although samsung and huawei had their own foundry, tsmc has alot of order to manufacture various processor, and qualcomm doesnt have its own foundry facility
on the operating system side ... x/open is the big boss because all operating system are based on unix core controlled by x/open
- android and its variants are based on linux which is based on unix
- windows based on unix
- all apple os based on unix
- rim based on unix, deepest condolences
so ... all processor except apple are based on arm as processor design company and all operating system are based on unix governs by x/open
someone ... somebody ... tries to unite humanity ... and only can be achieved by controlling and monitoring daily actttivities under one roof

I avoid Exynos Chips at all cost, especially when QUALCOMM chips are so readily available.

samsung is bashed in korea for using snapdragon and in europe for not using snapdragon.
i'm personally not touching another exynos phone until i see endurance, gps and standby benchmarks up to par with snapdragon.
the cpu and gpu benchmarks i couldn't care less about, but if the phone dies after 3 hours of screen time or if it loses 10% battery sleeping at night, then it's not practically usable and should never have left the factory nor the design department.

Qualcomm used 10 000 engineers to develop their SD865 SoC...
Samsung used less than less than 1 000 engineers including 290 staff layed off from Custom Mongoose department...
So even if they use raw ARM and new AMD GPUs...they'll be like 5 years behind Qualcomm...
Qualcomm is leading in all areas, their SoC are now preferred in all AR,VR,XR devices...now there are laptops powered by Qualcomm SoCs...
For Qualcomm its their area of specialization...while Samsung tries to be jack of all trades...

Exynos has ha... moreStrongly agree on one thing that Samsung did cheap-out on the GPU core.
If they had used 15-18 Mali G77 core with lower frequency then the Exynos 990 SoC had been much more efficient.
Anyway, I also think, if they had done that the production cost might have surpassed SD 865 because Qualcomm and Apple already use much less GPU core, also Huawei and MediaTek use less core than Samsung even using same Mali GPU and more GPU core means more money.
I think ARM should do something which can deliver good performance with fewer core.

But one thing you should know,
Why Samsung went for the mongoose custom core ?
To rival Qualcomm ?
Wrong answer.
Right answer is to rival Apple SoC. Because at that time Apple SoC were double better than other SoC for single core performance.
You might think Exynos custom mongoose core has become worse.
But the truth is ARM's cortex has improved dramatically and exynos couldn't.
If you do some research then you'll find SD 865 has better CPU performance than Apple's latest SoC. All credit goes to ARM, very few to Qualcomm.

SD 865 plus can happen but the possibility is very low.
I was talking about it when the news about Note 20 having SD 865 plus SoC.
I even commented saying why is everyone so sure that this one is SD 865 plus and not a new Exynos SoC ?

So, there was a 820-821 and a 855-855+.
The 835-836 who never got released had many article back then including one stating that the Pixel 2 and 2XL had it, so I got a "false positive" about this chip existence when I was checking...
