AnonD-21645, 25 May 2012Why wouldn't you move on? We all love tech, and personal... moreNot really. A phone needs to do what you need it to do. That's why people still use dumb phones. Plus you are forgetting that not everybody can afford powerhouses like HTC One X or Galaxy S3. Personally I will be a nokia user until android finally manages to come up with a phone that has a decent camera, they will never get close to pureview though(spare me the buy a DSLR if you want a good camera, I cant carry a DSLR everywhere).

Sorry, am I confused or am I the only one not confused??? This Italian guy said other day that Carla wont come as we thought it would, he went on to say Belle FP1 is nothing but Carla. This news says Carla is not cancelled it is Belle FP1. So my understanding is FP1 is Carla, and there is no further real update similar to Anna to Belle expected.

I updated my N-701 to FP1 last month so that means no further updates coming soon.

Other issue, someone please explain MS-Office 2.0 (with Word, Excel, PPT) was made available for Belle but removed for Belle FP1. So what is the status on that front?

We all love tech, and personally I'm on Android at the moment, I like it, but it's just an OS and they're all much of a muchness, but I'd like to think that whatever I'm using is at least current, will be upgraded and will feature more and more new and innovative features...

It's a shame people feel the need to cling on to dated technology, don't get me wrong, I love emulators and re-living glory days with C64 and Amiga and everything, but a phone is with you every day, it needs to be bang up-to-date, otherwise you're left behind...

                          And for what?

There is need for stories to be confirmed from the right source(just it is usually done when the affected party disagree with such)before its posted for information and readers to digest. The story on Carla update cancellation ,to say the least would have a lot of damages to all stakeholders,NOKIA inclusive.Retracting messages after being published only gives impression that that there may be anti-nokia war going on.Please check your facts well before it is posted .Thanks

Ok, if FP1 is really Carla, does that mean FP2 is really Donna? And if that is the case, will FP2 be available for any current Symbian devices? Most rumors indicate Donna would only run on a dual core processor. If this is true, it would appear FP1 is the last significant OS update current Symbian devices are getting...

I own a Nokia 701 running FP1. Please note that FP1 DOES NOT give you Microsoft Apps. That was a separate update. Furthermore, if you did the FP1 update before the Microsoft Apps update, you lose the ability to get the Microsoft Apps update. Don't ask me why, you just do. If you want the Microsoft stuff, be sure to process that update before going to FP1.
