Nokia confirms that Carla update for Symbian is not cancelled

If I were feeling particularly nasty I'd say that this news will affect all of the 16 people who will buy the 808... as it's carrier unsupported (so you have to pay full price for it ON TOP of a contract)... but I assume that older phones are affected by this too... again the few that own them...
I assume the 808 is already out in the UK, but no carriers are showing it on their websites... nor places like Carphone Warehouse...
In reality, what this shows is that Symbian is really on its last legs now, whether it's good or not, no developers are going to bother with new apps, and it makes the 808 pretty much dead on arrival...
And whether or not people like it, that's the truth. It has 1 or 2 years left if at all...
It's a real shame they didn't stick with Meego, I think it would have been an Android beater.. but as it stands, it's going to be playing catch-up for a very, very long time... let's see what fortunes the Lumia Pureview give Nokia next year... but again, that relies on Microsoft pulling their fingers out and creating an OS that doesn't feeling like it was created in 2005... with the functionality to match...

Gsmarena, this is not new news!
700 and 701 has already been updated, 808 already has belle FP1. We know N8, C7 and this generation won't get the full update but a short version of it. But this is not called Carla.

I don't think Belle FP1\FP2 is the Carla\Donna update we all were waiting for. They may be stripped-down versions of it..
If Carla is really Belle FP1, will FP2(which then should be Donna) support dual-cores??

FP1 as we know it today is just some bug-fixes + removed functionality (poor e-mail client, crimped power-button-menu, removed week-view from calender, crimped aspect ration in video player)

I'm getting confused here. Belle FP1 is already out for 603, 700, and 701 since last month. if FP1 is really Carla then it is truely not cancelled.

release: Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1.
It looks more like "Bug_Fixing" not like new OS iteration. Actually it looks more like functionality_reducing rather than any improvement at all.
Frustrating!
Not every bug-fixing release deserves a name!

I cannot understand why every idiot emploee says what he says without knowing what the member of board wants. Probably we will have support and some updates but that bastard italian manager prevented many possible nokia byers not only for symbian but also for wp.
