Only a fool buys SD665 phone at 385 dollars.

Saw photos taken by this phone.
Main cam: better than expected considering the weak hardware 1/2.8' (Should be 1/2.3 instead).
Ultra wide: bad. no surprize considering it is 8MP 1/4'.
2x: not that bad. hardware is weak
There is a night mode that consist on using AI instead of image stacking. It deals well with light sources.

Only thing, they might lack is waterproofing.

SoC is not everything on in smartphone.
Display,camera,DAC,IP protection,built quality these things are also important.
Juat take example of Pocophone F1.It was built around flagship SoC but it other than SoC,almost everything used in that device was mediocre.
Sony uses very high quality components in thwir devices thats why they are expensive.they are not crazy about boasting raw poweress of phone,they are one of the most professional phone manufacturers & they do care about overall smoothness of phone.
But yes SD 665 is weak as it is the only phone in mid range category from sony now.sony should have released another phone also with more powerful CPU like SD765G or 730G.sure they would be more expensive but still customers who want more powerful phone,they would have a choice.

10 Plus II will have better cpu.
Ace sold more than expected. People in Japan prefer these stuff over better CPU at the cost of other stuff. Except Apple, all other foreign OEMs are irrelevant in Japan.

Good move Sony. Good move? When it come to mid rangers, people care about performance per money. These typical Sony's strategy proven wrong (bad sales) over the years, yet they do the same thing again.
For that price, SD765 much more better tradeoff than IP rating that cannot recovered by warranty. No offense, I'm a Sony ex-user & still a fan, but I cannot agree to this, & blindly defending them.

SoC is not exactly a gaming powerhouse, but will do the job quite well.

Phone is not priced according the CPU. The CPU is not everything.
Phone has front speakers, IP68, gorilla 6.
Then people complain Galaxy A is plastic and gorilla 3 on screen in favor of better cpu.
