Also I do not understand the camera craze going on it only drives the prices up even more with the stupid Megapixel race. Why don't people just go buy a camera. Personally, I don't care about the camera.
I find expendable storage more important, but to each his own opinion.

ponk87, 07 May 2020You don't have any choices in Europe? LG, Nokia, Sony, Real... moreWhat? Prices have being increasing every year. There is not a flagship price reference. Mid-rangers now cost what flagships cost in previous years. But it doesn't matter, seems that Apple has decided to not follow Android trend and are going to offer some resonable prices. Android will lose a lot of market this year if Apple leaked prices are true...
No one is going to buy this fake flagship at that price or what you call true flagships with Apple products available hundred of euros cheaper even in iPhone 12 alternatives.
The funny thing will be the CEO and shareholders of those Android brands when they see that too late. People is not stupid. Will always buy the best they can for their money and if what you call true Android flaship phones are highly overprices above competitors they flop and be DOA. In few months we will see how much they drop the prices but with a big chunk of customers already in the dark side with no intention to return.

LG, Nokia, Sony, Realme, OPPO, Oneplus, Apple and Samsung, I would argue europe has the largest amount of choices when it comes to choosing a flagship, midrange or even a budget phone. You can even go with a huawei or honor phone if you don't care about Google services or if you are actively trying to avoid them. I think the only mayor brand that we are missing here is Vivo. Also if you aren't prepared to pay flagship prices for a true flagship just buy a midrange phone. I am so fed up with people expecting to buy a true flagship for half or third of the price.

This is a mediocre mid-range phone with a flagship SoC, that is all. And obviosly now asking a premium or flagship overprice under what people thought to be the best in value for the money due to the Poco F1... now all seems ridiculous and almost a scam.
So, no, there are other brands offering more without trying to fool people at double prices.

Floodgate, 07 May 2020Just wait a few months and the prices will drop to 400 - 45... moreStop calling it MI 9T pro. It's pretty confusing.
Redmi K20 pro is the name in most parts of the world.
As Redmi K30 pro isn't called Mi 10T pro anywhere in the world.
And now we have the Poco F2 which is basically rebranded Redmi K30 pro.

I am skipping this phone, because the Mi 9T Pro is still a good phone and the SD865 is not that powerful compared to the SD855. I will check back once the Poco F3 Pro drops next year.

So is more a confirmation, beause that price depending the market can be without taxes, so with taxes 649 Euros for the 6/128 GB and 749 Euros for the 8/256 GB variant. Crazy prices.
Almost double price than in China. They must believe that the quarantine make people idiot and not connected to the world... We know the real prices of those phones and that are a K30 Pro rebranded ones without even telephoto cameras and no expandable memory. What a joke of prices. Wallet closed, don't buy those overpriced ones, idem with Mi 10 phones. Maybe when they drop that 80% overprice then... they could sell some.

Loco2, 07 May 2020Expensive poco, every manufacturer increase prices by usd 100-200They need it for profits for R&D. If you can't afford the handset then don't buy it. It's already quite reasonable given the specs. Typical Ind ians who want flagship phone for $200 ish and are lazy to work.

pro, 07 May 2020There are Nokia, LG, Sony of course... :)of course not.
Sony offers just a couple of older models and its value for money is really bad.
LG is nearly out of game due to bad SW support, bad HW reputation and very limited distribution channel.
Nokia does not offer high-end models and its middle-class models includes old HW and are overprized.

Anonymous, 07 May 2020In Europe Pocophone F1 was about 350 euros back in 2018, ok... moreGood point. It might make sense to continue with the 855 or even the 730/765s for these phones. Even with the 855, most of use a fraction of its processing powers. Smartphone processors have hit the law of diminishing returns. The incremental technical developments and the costs involved do not translate to a proportional improvement in usage experience. With 5G and the separate modem for the 865, there's a strong case and market for the 855.
Of course, it is entirely possible for QC to restrict supply of the 855 forcing OEMs to pay up for the 865 to be able to boast of the flagship device. Xiaomi should keep costs down and use the F1's chassis with an 855 and minimal increments in cameras, screens are other components like the iPhone SE 2020.
