I have had three HTCs, a MDA Vario II and two Desires. The MDA went in multiple times for repairs due to loosing signals all the time. Both the Desires had blank screen issues and I only managed to get one repaired as HTC didnt cover the other under their warranty. As much as I like HTC smartphones due to various reasons, this new issue with One X has proved that HTC will not let us down by inconveniencing us with their flagship smartphones. They probably need a new quality assurance team or cover known issues under their warranty.

I can summarize my experience with HTC this way:
1- A problem-free Desire HD
2- A Sensation that overheated and almost melted
3- A replacement Sensation that did the same thing
4- A One X with defective paint finish
5- A Replacement One X with a dead speaker and battery problems
Will never buy from HTC again, I used to have tremendous respect for them, but, I'm never buying again till they apologize and clean up their act.
Very happy with both my iPhone 4 and Galaxy Nexus.

I will definetely go after HTC again. I have HTC Desire for more than 2 years and it works perfectly. For me, it's one of the best android phones ever.

HTC build their phones with stuck on antenas so to speak..You are supposed to solder Radio antena to the circuit board whereas HTC have their antena stuck to circuit board with spring connectors..
You can see it throughout their history by all the gold contacts on the back of battery covers, thats just asking for trouble..Even when they go through testing they might pass but as you take the covers on & off and natural deterioration failure occurs..I always had poor signal but my faults with HTC have been WIFI related,

Hi Guys,
I'm a consultant in the carphone warehouse. I can confirm that HTC have indeed recalled the handsets for a software update. There's no information as to why, but for customer feedback it's probably due to conectivity, overheating and battery issues. It may also have something to do with certain stock apps crashing intermittently. These have all been weeded out in the latest version 1.29.401.11 - I have a One X myself and it's working perfectly since the software updates.

I will never again buy any more phone from HTC, they have the worst build quality!
My Desire and Desire Z both were unable to keep a stable 3g connection, and both screens died after only a few months use! Desire S... have "deathgrip", and all HTC phones are well known for having the worst, shortest, batterylife, thanks to HTC Sense!
HTC phones look "good", but even though they often use metal the build quality is always very bad!
