Atleast i know dynamic frequency scaling is a thing on pretty much every cpu. Not sure about the other stuff or where you got them from.

While being true from technical pov it is also a marketing trick where the manufacturer releases lower frequencies in the beginning on purpose, so a few months later it can release refreshed models at almost same price to keep the spotlight on.

It's not overclocked if it's running at speeds the manufacturer intended. By that logic Ryzen 3800X is overclocked version of 3700X. It's just a better binned variant.

I think the 720G and 730 are better processors than this or the 765/768.
The 720-730 duo support error-correcting code memory that can detect and correct data corruption. Has dynamic frequency scaling that will reduce noise and power consumption under a light load. Are better equipped against malicious attacks with NX bit and supports hardware-assisted virtualisation.
They also come integrated with tech that make your phone safe for mobile payments and digital rights management for streaming content. That's called Trustzone. Both the 720 and 730 are armed with Advanced Encryption Standard and support Out of Order Execution for more efficient instruction cycles.
Sure the 765 range has slightly higher clock speed and support theoretically higher upload, download and RAM speeds. And are built on 7nm process instead of 8. But most reviews and reviewers and enthusiasts stick to speed and size of the distance between components on the processor (the nanometre figure).
I don't know Qualcomm's pricing deals with OEMs, but I reckon the 720G and 730 and perhaps now the older 845 and 855 may be the best value processors out there. In fact, even the lowly SD 439 built on a 12Nm process has all of these except out of order execution and EEC memory making the 439 superior to the 765s and quite a few others for certain tasks.
So you see, it's not just about speed and size. We hit the law of diminishing returns with processors quite a while back. I think we have way more processing power in our palms that what may have been used in early space missions. I think we need to dial back on all the ruckus over processors and the high cost of developing them escalating prices of phones all just for instragramming and snapchatting or PUBG-ing.

Qualcomm didn't introduce new SOC but updated (overclockd) an existing SOC , and that's how you simply cut costs on yourself (not necessarily on customers, though).

I just hope competition will increase pressure against Qualcomm and then their chipset finally would be worth their asking price .

Feeble attempt to match the Kirin 820. I really don't like it when companies are sandbagging and then in short intervals release slightly better prdoucts several times. This 768G is what the 765 should have been from the start. Quite the anti consumer behavior by Qualcomm.

Basically Qualcomm overclocked SD 730 CPU from 2.2 GHz to 2.8 GHz. Instead I would have preferred A77 cores at same clock speed as SD 765G for better efficiency.
