Anonymous, 12 May 2020Your reply for me is relevant but yet informative.. But on ... moreI'm not totally against them, I am for everyone having what they like.
I am against them being over 95% of all available choices...
Just yesterday I went shopping and there was smartphones, the curved edges look cool in picture, but isn't special in reality, the punch hole do really break the display.
The reasons I hate them are :
*Its ugly to have something breaking the display like that...
*They doesn't have any privacy and they prevent the pop up and other to be available.
*They prevent other sensors to be on the phone (initially the Apple Notch was all about 3D Facial recognition, on Android this is the opposite, not even ambiant light and proximity sensor were left untouched, notch and mainly hole caused them to be shrunken and put underdisplay making them utterly terrible.
*They cause less space on the notification and status bar.

AnonD-909757, 11 May 2020Well yes, except that the iPhone notch have a specific goal... moreYour reply for me is relevant but yet informative.. But on the other hand I think punch hole or water drop or round punch hole for the camera itself aren't useless by no means.. Now one would love it or not depends on each person's test..

if they would keep the base price of their whole lineup below 1000$ they could get such a stab at android OEMs and convince people that their phones are a lot more competitive this year. Samsungs lineup STARTS at 1000$ and goes up to 1400$ .
My deam pricing:
iPhone 12 - 699$ (+0$ YoY)
iPhone 12 Plus - 799$ (new in)
iPhone 12 Pro - 899$ (-100$ YoY)
iPhone 12 Pro Max - 999$ (-100$ YoY)
and if the diffrence is only 100$ between the models I think more people would more often opt for the higher tier devices.

Anonymous, 12 May 2020Interesting.. Any link where I can read this more or any te... moreNot yet, this isn't patented so I can't provide any additional informations.
I am working on a HUUUUUGE project, if it work, I'll have enough money to start my own brand, I want to make Android phone that can also run Linux and my own OS, I'll put all my idea on my flagship devices, this one included, trust me, you'll recognize the thing.
If I fail, I'll try to sell my idea privately.
If it still fail, I'll consume my ideas one after the other by giving away their details to push my credibility and have greater chances of having a brand taking one of them.
Note that I am autistic (and this almost always come with visual thinking), in my case I can easily conceptualise idea in my head without requiring to make any blueprint or descriptions, and for peace of mind/security I don't write down any of my idea, I don't forget any of them anyway, so there is no digital or physical informations about my ideas.
As many of them, this particular idea is the kind of thing a simple technical explanation is enough to know it have no reasons to fails, but as a side effect, it have the risk to work poorly or not as good as intended...

Tryouts of a 64MP sensor reportedly left Apple engineers unsatisfied, so they will be sticking with a 12MP sensor. A larger sensor, though, with multiple enhancements for better night mode.
On a positive side, good that Apple didn't follow the trend and wait till it's perfect
On a negative side, only 12MP??? Rip

I would prefer last year's 11 pro camera setup for the three cameras. Lidar sensor, whereas, can sit among in a small size as shown in the render. All four sensors staying equally big would be quite ugly IMO!

LilPhone, 12 May 2020Base model S20 is also recycling 12MP camera (except teleph... moreThe S20 doesn't have a telephoto unit. Samsung calls the second camera a telephoto camera due to marketing reasons. It's a 64 megapixel wide angle Bayer camera, not a 64 megapixel tele camera. It's the first Bayer smartphone camera with a resolution of more than 30 megapixels since the Lumia 1020. So the S20 has two main cameras. A 12 megapixel Bayer and a 64 megapixel Bayer, that's a great solution in my opinion.
Other smartphones use Quad Bayer sensors, which capture much less detail because the software needs to rearrange ("remosaic") the pixels artificially in order to get the traditional Bayer array.

AnonD-844967, 12 May 2020titanium back means no wireless charging.
That's why they ... moreInduction based wireless charging is stupid anyway, it cause heat and is slow...
I invented a contact based charging that basically allow for really fast charging, heat dissipation, data transfert (so you can just place the phone on the base and have it communicate with your computer through USB), allow for non slot specific placement (you can place it where you want in pads that can potentially be really large and move them without loosing the charge or data connection), allow easily to put multiple devices at once, including having them all transferring data, as if they were all plugged into a USB hub, it also allow for reverse charging and contact based data transfert between any devices having the same norm...
The phone side is quite cheap but I admit the pad side is a little bit expensive as it require quite a lot of electronic to work, but it would be so much better than induction, and a quick mod (a case) could anyway make it compatible with induction if needed...
Not to say my idea is the best, there are probably many alternative to induction based wireless charging, but mine is clearly better, and providing your case have the contacts, having any phone case won't cause any issues, and yes it is waterproof too.
