People who are facing the issue with OTA, try Kies software over PC, ICS update works fine here and people who are facing issues in connecting their phone with Kies , try it on different PC altogether, some have driver issues in Kies. ( if you can uninstall and install back kies and make kies working on same PC, then PAT your back ;-) )

AnonD-39625, 29 May 2012after updating 2.3.6 it says i can't connect to kies. but t... morewell after hearing this news today i did call samsung customer care and he replied to me its better give s2 to near by service center. if your phone is still in warranty they ll do for free so i ll do it asap.. might be tomorrow..

Got it updated just now in Malaysia too.. The update brought major improve in term of performance and features ^^
