I contacted Samsung guys...they said the reduced ram which it is showin is used by ICS OS......not worth d update...apart frm few visual cchanges..it slos down d phone..I would advice ppl not to go for d update.....waste of time....

Hi All Users & @Team GSM - I am unable to get the ICS update on my phone. Whenever I click Software Update it keeps displaying "Connection Error". Anyone else facing prob or any solutions. Kindly help. Have been waiting for this for long now.. :(

i downloaded the ics update 220 mb over the air in my galaxy s2 i9100g but it failed to install and asked me to update via kies or by goint to a samsung service centre..i am living in india.
Please help me..

Not worth downloading. Makes the phone slow and doesnt bring anything new to add to the utility or user experience.
Disappointed
Why does it show reduced amt of RAM !!!!!

To be more clear , HTML5 test on s2 gave me 230 score on ICS and on iPod Touch (2009 model) , i got score of 342(600 Mhz and 256MB RAM ! lol) , which is a pure example of how good iOS updates are (this update i got before 7 months) , but come on look at optimization of windows phone as well as iOS , very smooth and latest update comes right on day announced......
I saw how badly android lost vs windows phone challenges , nobody cares if it has dual or quad core , important thing is features work or not but android is little backward in that department , always resource hungry with OEM bloatware.
iOS and Windows Phone look same update after update but what changes is 'inside' , appearance doesn't change but improvements can be seen in speed, as well as nice optimization.I did use Android but look at Nexus phones which got same update before 7-8 months haha , too late for updates on samsung,HTC and SE phones lmao , and finally u get a crappy version of ICS with Touchwiz/Sense/MotoBLUR instead of beautiful 'stock' ICS which is seen in Nexus phones.
(again, i dont use nexus phone either , but just saying , how arrogant ur comment is)
So Nexus users didnt wait long , so u say nexus is crap ? haha , just a poor excuse u use instead of admitting pathetic service from OEMs because Nexus also made by samsung too.

very Disappointing update , nothing much change except UI and few application , Samsung did nothing all that month to change in old flagship model just to promote SGS3.
Samsung want to upgrade by new model not by new S/w .
poor marketing , rather i will buy HTC or Motorola then samsung again

my sg2 is now enjoying a rooted ics 4.0.3! fast smooth swifing of pages i onnly noticed no touchwiz 4.0 is it really included in the oficial ics update?

I have been trying to update my GT-I9100 firmware since last night but to no avail. OTA, it doesn't come up with any new updates whereas Kies shows a new firmware available. However, every time I initialise the upgrade the kies software shows "Connection Timed Out" after a certain percentage. It has wasted a lot of my time. There's no problems with my internet connection either. What seems to be the problem? Is anyone else facing this issue?
I used to be a Samsung admirer but the update delay and now this crappy bullshit has definitely made me Anti-Samsung.

I hope the ram problem gets solved soon. Someone shud take up the matter with samsung. Otherwise no point in getting ics.
