Anonymous, 14 May 2020History of their origin should be evidence enough.Let me remind you that the US government has had numerous surveillance leaks, from credible sources. The US has a long record of covert mass surveillance, yet you still think "China bad" just because the orange man said so. There's no evidence of Huawei equipment being a political tool for spying, but there's plenty of evidence that the US government has unlimited access to user data from Facebook, Apple, Google, you name it. How dense and hypocritical can you be?

Xiaomi sells because ... moreThose examples of failed OSes are not applicable to the current situation.
Huawei has an advantage over those by the simple fact that China already does not use GMS and so the OS can still survive in China which will be enough to keep the company making enough money and it can have spill over effect to the rest of the world.
Of course, it won't happen over night but the other OSes you mentioned did not have the leverage Huawei has in terms of local market.
Besides, Android or IOS are not the first OSes to have dominated the market, there was Blackberry and Symbian but they got displaced by new comers Android and IOS and the same thing can happen.

Anonymous, 14 May 2020Chinese market is enough to sustain them just like is still... moreYes, except not all Indians are that friendly with CCP. The moment the CCP makes a move against India, all those companies are dropping like rocks in there. Same goes for the rest of Asia. Also, you seem to forget that even if there is more population there, the money is on flagships numbers sold, and those numbers are moved in Europe, North America, and Japan.

Xiaomi sells because of its cheap Android devices model. And even if they switched, getting the apps and the developers would be another completely different thing.
Remember the last time another OS tried to compete against Apple and Google? Bada OS, Symbian and Windows Phone remember those times, too.

The spy accusations against Huawei that the American president tries to sell without providing a single piece of evidence are a real joke.
American President who says for example that the coronavirus can be cured by injecting disinfectant oneself, and other great affirmations.
The pure true is that Huawei was growing technologically compared to American companies like Apple or Google, and in order to stop this expansion, he has invented these spy claims.
Spy accusations that could also be applied to Google itself with its apps that ask for your GPS data, contacts, API bluetooth covid, etc. and other sensitive information that Google keeps about us on its servers but of that the joke American president says nothing.
I hope that people in the US are intelligent and in the next month of November they will vote for another president so that the Huawei ban lasts LESS than 1 year.

Wily2020, 14 May 2020They wouldn’t never risk their sales by leaving google.Chinese market is enough to sustain them just like is still surviving.
And they play their cards right and get the Indian market, that's 33% of the world's population already and they play even better and get the rest of Asia, it 66% of the world's population.

What, you mean the US isn't going to delay the ban anymore with consecutive 90 day extensions like they did at the start? Huawei is only banned because they refuse to allow the US to install NSA backdoors- whoops, I mean because they are a threat to US national security.

There is no news in this, Huawei and Google were never expecting the executive order to change this year, Google is trying to convince the US government to give them an exception like Microsoft.

Apart from Samsung, all major android mobile phone makes are from china like oppo, vivo, oneplus, xiaomi, reralme etc. what if they stop using android and go for Huawei HarmonyOS? Android will leave with only samsung as its OS user, since LG, Sony, Motorola and HTC are already sinked at global level.
