01 June 2020
For the oldest models, this will be the last update. However, some fairly old iPhones will reportedly be supported in 2021 as well.

Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things iPhone can't.

Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.

All those features and still your phone loses support so quickly because the manufacturers need to sell you a new gimmick and drop support for your current throwaway product

Even with the laughable Pixel 4, they can still manage to get majority of youtubers and tech reviewers to say that it's the "BEST Android experience" and the fans are still cheering and praising.

Besides, updates are not important for Android, as stated by many posters here.

[deleted post]Don't worry, many more current features will trickle down on your iPhone.
But they'll be 5 years late.
1000$ and above just to get latest features 5 years late.

So who is really in it for max profit?

[deleted post]Yes like the USB C gimmick that trickled down 5 years later onto your upcoming iPad?
Again behind by 5 years as usual. SMH.

Up until 2 years ago Apple still provided with their flagships 5W chargers in the box, because officially they wanted to protect the batteries in long term usage. Unofficially they were selling 18W or even 29W separately to use, if necessary, also for iphone charging. I mean, yeah is not mandatory, but if you wanted fast charging, guess what, you need to pay extra for it.
So long battery protection, hello profit.
The same can by said about micro sd cards and "data protection". You just need to look at the prices of different storage capacities iphones to see where Apple was going with this too.

Everything, absolutely everything Apple does is for profit. The problem is, they got so good at misleading, that some people are actually thinking Apple is doing things for their customers.

Android having such a huge marketshare makes invidual Android companies really strugling to stay in the market it also makes Android market very fragmented and big mess which i think is impossible to fix anymore without starting from the scratch. I’ve said this before. Google grew way too big way too fast without any rules or borders and now we see the results, well we have seen them for many years already and it haven’t got any better.

I see Android users bragging about being able to pirate apps and games on this website a lot like it’s something to be proud of. That’s the exact reason why so many apps are better on iOS, no developer wants to put hard work and effort into an app or game only for an illegal APK to be shared online.

It’s so great when you buy a new Apple product and you know that no matter what it will get AT LEAST 5 years of support so you are happy to buy them again and buy the accessories and apps etc.. because the ecosystem is reliable and focused on quality instead of gimmicks.

This is why is iOS users are so happy and don’t have to go into android topics, because what’s the point? We know that that android phone will be old news and unsupported in no time. :’D
