AnonD-58102, 07 Jun 2012The price for this is insane! It should cost €250, at mo... moreIt has a very capable image processor, and thats not an old one.
It has a sensor that far surpasses any camera in the 250 price category.
And the optics are quite good as well.
So I dont think your math adds up.
If pureview was a compact camera, it would still cost more than 250 dollar, and now its also a capable phone.
If pureview was only a phone with no camera of cheapest camera/optics avalible, it would probably still be worth north of 200 dollars.

Include a power camera such as this in your next Windows phone and you might possibly have something worth buying. Symbian is dead, dont know why Nokia is still wasting valuable resource here. Should of kept on working on MeeGo which sure was a blessing to use.

[deleted post]No P&S camera can compete with PV, even the most expensive of them... Photos taken with 808 are similar to low-end DSLRs and mirroless cameras. When it comes to video recording it can go head to head even with high-end DSLRs like Canon 5D Mark II and this fact was demosnstraded by some videos shot with 808. Add to all this Nokia Rich Recording (which records audio like 800$ microphones) and lossless digital zoom and you have the perfect low cost all in one device.

                    Amazing technology!

People are too negative nowadays. Something seems to be alwyas wrong. We should enjoy about these new things and try to find the positive things. If a product is delayed some days, people complaint like it is the end of the world. That is sad..

Nokia always made good phones no doubt of that, there was time where it was the most one that you could install applications...

Now..... times changed and people are looking for much complicated phones and a company that can provide updates for their clients from time to time

[deleted post]Falk Lumo is a well known German photographer who has an experience of 35 years in macro and astro photography... He compares Nokia 808 Pureview with the legendary Canon Mark 5D II which costs around $2,500 and also reckons that Nokia can now consider themselves as a camera manufacturer as well...

So please just don't misguide people just out of your childish hatred and lame arguments. People would rather believe a credible person like Falk Lumo than you, so here is the link:

Anybody who wants it and can afford it should go for it while the others should just wait till the price drops to its stability...

Behind this technology are the people who have toiled hard for 5 years to make our lives easier and convenient while every other company out there was making money banking on Android...

At this price, every sane person, would believe that it is a nice bargain even if it would have been only a camera. Because any camera that falls in the league of being compared with this piece of tech costs around $800 - $900. So for this price you are getting a remarkable pocket-able camera with a decent smartphone attached as a gift.

Other companies would have rather gone for releasing 5 galaxies in 5 years to make more and more money while Nokia just put everything to improve only a single feature and that too for five prolonged years. Appreciate what should be appreciated, if you don't like it then let others, like me, to appreciate your silence.
