I have used Android and Windows Phone both...Windows phone has its limitations...but it is as stable as a rock and is silky smooth to use...so i dont understand why do i need dual or quad core...its in fact Android's problem that it needs 4 cores to run smoothly...

So in my eyes WP7 is no more reliable than Android. Even worse is the old Symbian with quite a few freezes/reboots per month. At the end of line, in current mobile OS state (it's still evolving) there is no 100% reliable mobile OS out there.
And yes, with excellent integration with Win8 and XBOX, WP7's only current strength is a thing called "vendor lock-in" (more on Wikipedia) and this is actually a very very bad thing and Microsoft is using this trick ever since it was founded.
Even thought I'm up for more competition (we all win), I wish MS's mobile market share would be in same ratio as is Linux's desktop market share --> 5%.
Each company has it's moments and newer more "hip"/small companies emerge to tackle the old ones.
It's just the way it is.
      Life goes on!

Let's considering a fact that back in 2010(yes, that's only 2 years ago), N8(Symbian) was sold over 4 millions when it was initially launched and that figure was more than any android phones at that time.

Now, Lumia series barely sold over 2 millions as a series. Yeah, not a single device, but as a series.

The writer could slam Nokia for this, if he/she was harsh on Nokia, but he didn't. So, I think this is a fair article. Though It would be interesting how much profit that Nokia would post this quarter. You know this is the end of 2011-2012 financial year...

Not talking Q1 2012. Fine samsung sold huge numbers in 2011 and 2012, BUT you can't bet the same for 2013.

W8 platform is expected to be revolutionary similar to Apple. The advantage with MS is uncomparable acceptance in desktop environment.

So again, my money is on MS and Nokia for 2013 and not so much on Android which has peaked already.

The style in witch gsmarena writes the stories is just wrong, it's not with the style they post for the Iphone buttons or S3 same design being not changed and keeping the button, the latest news are only revolving mostly around only Iphone and Samsung.

One last point, who the heck wants zune? Why do I have to own a pc to do an update to phones firmware? I don't own a pc, don't want one either, ever heard of ota update to phones o/s? If I wanted to spend £400 on a phone it would not be on a wp device, not even £100! The only wp device I liked was Toshiba tg-01, without mango. Was way cool but sold in small numbers. The tie up between nokia and microsoft reminds me of that between carphone warehouse and best buy, that went in two years, nokia may have even less time. Call it a day Nokia, you are not a good match here. Move on before you go bust!

Carphone warehouse uk shifting Lumia 710 for £99, why because they need to boost numbers. I had one last week, it was faulty, or Nokia is. Problem started when downloading offline maps, the whole thing froze, tried factory reset you name it. It was total junk, and instead of sitting at a cpw store, that never seems to refund I sold it online, at £80! I never want another Nokia, recall only too well my N8 that too had similar issues. Not fit for purpose, and bugged is how I see much of Nokia product today. Sit here on Alcatel 990 Android, cheap as chips device, £40 at Asda UK, does all I need. No restrictions on uploading, can bluetooth files, add an equalizer for audio, can tether, list is endless. Nokia, used to think you were great, things move on as I have RIP Nolia!
