U express ur ... moreWell my little cambodian friend, i work in the industry, and through sales figures and reports we constantly attain, i can confirm the sales figures displayed here are indeed quite poor. Its a shame because i want to like them but not to worry. I dont see samsung cutting staff. Ask our finnish nokia friends how many staff they let go. I have figures as i work in sales for a massive european company in sales. Sorry mate, but im speaking facts. buddy

It looks like a promising return for Nokia. Why not, not all phones can be Android, neither can they all be IOS, so why not WP and evolving Symbian too! Different people, different choices.

the report is from same analysts that state android and ios will have each around 10% market share and wp will have 46% :P i dont believe a word this idc institute

We all know media is biased, one way or the other. Android and iOS are ahead in the game because they started off early. They are both very good, Millions of people around the globe cant be wrong. But taking credibility away from Microsoft and Nokia is just plain wrong. What's Nokia's best Lumia device ? 900? It started shipping in April, Lumia 900 sales aren't included in this 2.2 million figure. And who can even guarantee the worthiness of this research ? To me, Lumia devices are amazing, from the software to the hardware. Fanboys who follow their respective platforms religiously dont understand that competition is ultimated good for their platform. Microsoft will make Apple and Google push for new innovations rapidly. So please, dont bash a company that is trying hard to regain strength. What do you do when you see a guy tripping down walking on the street, do you help him get back up or kick him down further ?

What I have said is what I have read from Nokia report which is available in my country as Nokia was very popular here maybe one or two years ago . But imagine that the company wants its uniqueness . what u just said is just the opinion, so learn to talk about real word not just opinions anyway read properly is good too . Im saying, they could run ovi alongside it, in the same way that htc and samsung run their own app stores alongside things. I Want meego...please bring back meego.....Samsung took meego and made a crap look out of it....
Just look at N9(Meego,nokia) and That phone releaed to show Tizen(meego derivative by samsung)...
Just see the user interface....Crappest of all...

And your comparing that to a single quarter of Lumia sales? iPhone sales almost doubled Galaxy's two year sales in two QUARTERS. Does that mean more people want iOS then? Of course not. So stop comparing apples and oranges. Samsung is the most successful Android OEM. How are the others doing? Moto, Sony, LG losing money. HTC's profits are in a nose dive. What makes you think Nokia wouldn't have been in the same position if they had gone with Android? Pre-orders for GS3 are up to 10 million according to an unsubstantiated source. If Apple or MS had done that the fanboys on this site would have been crying foul all day.
If this 2.2 million number is true then, that's not too bad. Second quarter should be better since they had a wider release in the US and other countries. When it comes to WP though, it seems as though everyone is waiting for Apollo/ Windows 8 to really go all in.

its a shame that nokia once a global trendsetter in the mobile industry will be reduced to this a rusted hulk fixed on its pedestal .. what a shame a classic case of complecency and overconfidence they never though that producing a same crap of cellfone will save them .. i see nokia going under 2 to 3 years from now

OVI store is not just Application store but it also includes OVI map or Nokia map . If Nokia goes for andriod than it will abandons this map as the Andriod has its google map. Imagine that how many money that Nokia has invested to develop OVI map. Other hand , go for androd is just to make Nokia the same as Sony, Samsung, HTC and so on. Choosing window phone is to make their phone differentiate from other .

I was samsung user and fan but to be honest...Nokia makes me feels by the quality and the respect....Samsung is the biggest manfactrure for the electronics in the world and no compare between her and nokia ...but the Samsung galaxy s2 and and samsung wave more like the toys comparing to N8 and nokia lumia and of course not mention the camera
