Grats nokia, but I really think if they had picked up Android instead of saying it sucks they would have sold 50m phones.
Clearly nokia has the best hardware, best camera, great apps, bery large fan base. But a lot of this is being limited, the 800/900 are amazing phones but I'm sure if wp7 allowed it they would have better cameras, 1080p video which would blow everything else away, better screen and they would be the best smartphones in everyway.

I'm using Samsung Galaxy SII because I like Android, but any devices compared to Nokia is like crappy chinese gadgets. Nokia, please you have the best hardware and billions of people trust your products.
Please please please, adopt Android and you will see the huge rise in your selling rate. This is may be your last chance, and don't forget that the fans of your killed platform (Symbian and Meego) are going to Android because it is closer to Symbian (Not like WP).
Damn Elop , I hate you.

If one-year old Qualcomm Chipset cannot handle all apps in Google Play,well,that's the difference of Windows Phone OS.
The "one-year-old Qualcomm chipset" can handle all apps in Windows Marketplace.(while Android can't handle all apps on Play Store.)
BTW, this is the result of Nokia's "self destruction". Abandoned an almost 'perpect'(Symbian) os with and fluid performance, less limition and embraced a new and 'full of limitation' OS.
But I'll be happy if their Asha (only 'hope' in Indian) embraced their last effort for Symbian, the Nokia Belle FP1/2 ,Carla and Donna.I wish Nokia will forget that S40 platform and make their new Asha line-up a better smartphone.Well it's Nokia's effort,so it's pair to use their own 'product'(Belle and so on) and as the name suggest,there's no more trace of Symbian in new "Nokia Belle FP1/2)",it's already replace w/ 'Nokia'.

Nokia is only used in developing countries in Pakistan now. because they can compete only with Chinese Handsets. They are out of the race from Android, iPhone, Samsung, HTC

i use android coz for now its the only choice in the market i will get a big screen and can do som task..android can entertain you but if u look deeply, its not stable, unrealable os..nid mor ram, power hunger, buggy and even in multi core it still laggy..take note, laggy in multi core..why laggy after so many updates.?huh.!!
..why nokia didnt go with android.?we know nokia is a experienced company, they are not going to choose another failure..nokia dont just think about today but for the future..sooner the android will become a cheap os, wp vs ios is the real battle..

IMO, and I repeat, IMO, symbian > wp7, android > wp7, iOS > WP7
Android > symbian mostly because of app choice and integration but they are both more free OSes than iOS and WP7
iOS > WP7, again mostly because of app choice and the fact that WP7 is still an infant. but they both put a lot of restrictions on the user though they are both much simpler to use when compared to android and symbian.
Samsung smartphones are good mostly because of android
Nokia phones are good because of Nokia. Symbian, even if its a capable OS, doesn't have enough developer support.
Conclusion? Nokia needs both android and WP7. Why?
People who don't like the complexity of android or symbian have had only one option so far iOS. WP7, if it us actively developed is an excellent alternative.
Android is the perfect to fit into symbian boots. There are almost no restrictions on what phone hardware Nokia can use it on. Also, remember that Nokia can customize it the way it wants. So, they can add plenty of symbianness to android if they wanted to. I personally believe that Nokia makes some if the best hardware. So, that would help it make a mark in the million androids that are out today.
I started with Nokia for a long period of time, then have used a Samsung and now use a HTC, but only because its android and not because its a HTC. If Nokia decided to make an Android and didn't just put a halfhearted effort into it, then I will buy it without much thought...
Come on Nokia, don't ditch WP7 but give us a droid for people who don't like WP7 restrictions. I want a pureview droid with 4.5inch 16:9 HD clearback amoled and quad core krait. I don't care how much that costs but I will buy it!

2. offer 16m colour + nHD pixel in cheap symbian phone example 5230.
3. camera.

I had a HTC and move to a gorgeous Lumia 800 Cyan, it's great, better video than Iphone 4S, don't believe? check Home movie from Bertrand... live tiles, Nokia drive free, Nokia music, Nokia city lense, 100 000 WP apps as of today... to try it is to love it. And you can keep your apps if you change from Android or OS to WP. Not to forget unless you like to pay more for nothing that it is 180 euros cheaper than the iphone 4S...

Just proves the stupidity, MeeGo was at least as finished OS, when they signed with MS, probably further along.
And WP still has limitations, the kind of limitations that Symbian has been highly criticed for.
So they had two OSes as good as WP... now they only have WP, and very little possiblities to speed the development of the OS.

[deleted post]Dont read gsm arena then... do one. As an industry insider, i am very well placed to see how the lumia reange have sold. And from 1st hand experience i can safely say it hasnt been recieved too well. Im not a fan of apple, by any means, monopolising greedy and poor product for the price compared to others, but they sell well, very well. And androids 60% plus market share speaks for itself. Please dont comment if you dont understand the industry
