Phone w... moreWell yeah first of all you are a meditek fanboy because u are supporting meditek in every aspect secondly for ur kind information i want to inform u that i am a hardware engineer and i work on chips.And those comets i made i never said that 100% sure on paper it looks like that real world performance is totally difference but we have to wait and see how those chips perform when the chips are 2year old in a phone

Finally, a chipset that's worthy of the 6 series. GPU should be on par with S730 so it looks like to be very similar with Exynos 880. ISP and DSP are getting a boost.

The 690 Will probably for vanilla version.
BECAUSE Snapdragon 690 is not even faster than 720g that is for Redmi note 9 PRO. See the difference of the NUMBER. 6XX series is lower than 7xx. The higher the number the better it's soc.
And the MTK dimensity 820 is almost as fast as last year Snapdragon flagship. It's speed and efficiency in the middle of SD 845 and 855.

So don't judge it too bad. I'm not mediatek defender but this new soc is good and they not even flagship. So expect for good things.

That's...not how it works. Phones don't use their full power all the time. Dimensity is still more efficient than Snapdragon midrange due to the fact that it's manufactured based on TSMC's 7nm.

In our country, even 5G test deployments are at least 1.5 years away and usable network much more than that. But still OEMs are marketing devices with 5G branding and people are buying them. These devices would be out of update cycle by the time we have widespread 5G deployment.
Every year we have some bizarre trend like this. 2018 was all about notches. There were devices launched in that year which had notch as the main feature.Then 2019 brought with it number of camera sensors as a trend. The number of cameras became the new defining feature for devices.

Mediatek sux, 17 Jun 2020They actually put an a77 core, even before a 7 series gets ... more4×a76 can be fast than the 2×a77 but the first one 4×a76 will produce a lot of heat as their is 4 big cores performance is not everything in smartphone efficiency also matters and in case of 4×a76 yeah they will be fast at begining but after 2years they will heat up very much and will use huge battery.Qualcom can also put their cores to 2.6ghz but they never did that the highest speed qualcom used in midrange is 2.8ghz in a single core in sd768g and other cores are below 2.6ghz but in dimensitu we get 4 cores at 2.6 ghz so after a year or two it will produce huge heat and non efficient

My opinion on this is that....
Yes, maybe today normal users will not see the benefits of having 5G... Because 4G still can do enough in today's standard... However it's still nice to have faster internet speed... Right? And who knows maybe there would come a time that Games, (especially desktop games) with the advancement of graphics technology, would take up 20 GB or more... Or maybe there would come a time that 8K TV and movies will become standard... Of course that might come far in the future... But who knows... Long story short... Having 5G phone is future proofing. And as I have said it's just nice to have a faster internet... :-)

I'm excited for the phones which will have this chipset... I hope there's a lot... And hopefully they would be priced below or around $200... Even if, here in the Philippines, 5G is not yet widely available... I'm still looking forward...

Sub 6Ghz 5G is based on 5G network and offers 4G+ speeds in a good day because is not wide available yet . The mmWave is true 5G with GB/s speeds.
So how many people in the USA have a 5G compatible phone with mmWave and is in an area with coverage? Maybe less than 0.1% Why? Because USA smartphone market sucks. The only smartphone available with 5G mmWave are the flagships from Samsung, OnePlus, Sony and LG - 7 models in total compared to Europe you can easily triple that. Motorola can't count. Their flagship is Verizon exclusive. USA telecommunication field sucks. That's why they were willing to let Huawei work again with some of USA counterparts.

It's pretty weird, but I don't think this chip will be that cheap because the 675 wound up being very rarely used even though it out performed the 710 and 712 in everything except gpu.
