Sure Android is open and all but do you need to do all of this everyday even if it's not important to you? iOS may be locked but it has the necessities for you to use everyday and there's no bloatware forcing you to use it like a need.

Android guys, why are you so tech racially exclusive with your features. Can't others have it? What Apple showed is NOT COPYING but STANDARDIZATION. These features standardize what a mobile OS should be. Heck Widgets aren't even an Android original. It could be originally found in some earlier OS or even Windows Vista because it has widgets in 2006.

I'm sure there are numerous features like in PalmOS/webOS, Symbian that aren't in Android or iOS yet. I wish Apple would screw an update to be like the 13.5 where Jailbreaking is so easy that it won't lock your iPhone down for 1000 years.

It was relevant those days, where apps were kind of light weighted and not many workflow actions have been implemented. Emails, Text Messages, Weather, Currency, even Facebook and WhatsAppp shorter versions were interesting. Now this will look pre historic in any mobile. Even iOS has better ways like Short cuts, App Icon long press actions....

At least with Android phones, you have a choice. You don't like Samsung using its own Exynos processors? There's lots of alternatives from other Android phone makers with snapdragon processors. There's even Kirin processors if you hate Google apps or Mediatek processors if you want the cheapest processors. Android is about choice. Iphone - well profit and brand image, though I certainly won't recommend tge iPhone SE 2020 if you want to showcase to your friends that Apple logo. They'll only perceive you as a social climber.

Which is 16% preference vs. 20% preference for apple.

At least this is an educated guess, unlike assuming that market share means popularity.

Wily2020, 23 Jun 2020You are missing the point, i just said what iOS stand for. ... moreI certainly agree Apple is doing the transition slowly but not because they are afraid of the alleged 'mess' you say that Android is, (which even ULTRA cheap $150 Android Go phones are not), but because Apple is a PROUD company.

Apple doesn't want to acknowledge Android is ahead in MANY things and rapidly copying Android's features (resizable widgets, app drawers) will be bad for its image (Android copycat).

At least android manufacturers don't pretend. They copy the iPhone's notch without shame but now has moved on to puncholes, pop ups and unde display fingerprint scanners which sooner or later, future iPhones are going to copy.

If you are gaming on a phone you are bound to be charging more frequently, there is no phone that can game longer than 24hours straight without needing a charge.

Apple do very small changes so they don't risk what made iOS so popular and high in user satisfaction. Like Apple said in recent WWDC keynote. Every small details make the user experience. Apple is super careful to make any big changes which would risk the experience they've been building since first iOS which their users like a lot. iOS just have the IT factory which makes it competitive years after year and people are ready to pay for it lot of money. They won't ruin it and make it big uncontrolled mess like Android is. It's easier to buy Android phone if it that's what you want.

But wait, is the iPhone SE2 still on after a short gaming session, or is it tethered to the wall, charging, unable to finish the game which it beat the android to loading times by a fraction of a second less? And did you really enjoy the game on that small, bezel huge screen? Moral lesson: There's more to a phone than raw processor speed. :)

Fast charging with double stacked battery like in the oppo find x2 pro, and charge extra 400$ for that amazing out of this universe feature for the 1st time in phone in your iphone 14 (no matter android has this tech since 3-6 years by the time apple implements)

A prestigious company selling cheap, mediocre devices (iPhone SE2) where before they only sell two kinds of premium iPhones both costing upwards of $800 only mean one thing: the iPhone branding image and appeal no longer sells iPhones as much today as it was before. They need to sell some mediocre iPhone offering with huge bezels, poor battery and mediocre screen whilst recycling touch ID hoping to bring back those who went with android because they can't take the poor value proposition of iPhones anymore.

I wonder how many people clapped, cheered, high fived each other, and then celebrated, after Apple announced these ground breaking and innovative new features.

Sure, sure...keep the smug holier-than-thou attitude up, doesn't change the fact you compare technology to nonsensical analogies like fashion or claiming it's a "prison" OS, when clearly nobody is being forced into anything against their will. Who wants their phone to look exactly like a million others and have absolutely zero hardware choice? Well, millions apparently, it's their choice, quit judging them and deal with it.

Jailbreak? You mean a small percentage of users circumventing the system ILLEGALLY so they can avoid paying for apps, creating security issues and troubles to other users as well as developers on a whole, whilst going against the company's intent, is justified for vilifying Apple? Great logic you got there, mate.

"Greedy", "restrictive" or "anti-competitive" also sounds exactly like how Google is right now for banning Huawei from using their services as well as Qualcomm for forcing OEMs to use their chips with 5G, increasing their prices and I don't see you ranting a long paragraph, tearing them a new one. Bias much?

If you don't like a company for their product and services, instead of making sarcastic, backhanded comments, by all means, pay your hard earned money n support OEMs running Android or any other alternatives. That's how you truly let companies bring improvements, innovations and choices as you so eloquently ranted.
