4ssgs, 16 Jun 2012I agree, when you combine the sales of Apple AND Samsung th... moreApple and Samsung outsell HTC at "the high end phone market" respectively, even though HTC high end phones are cheaper than Galaxy S series and Iphones.
Therefore the market tells us that Apple and Samsung, each of them separately, are better brands than HTC that's what I meant.
Both, Nokia and Samsung have had the full range(low to high) even before HTC made android phones.
What HTC is doing is endlessly releasing cheap mid to high phones and keeps pressure on Apple and Samsung to make better "mid - high end phones", such as S3.
Though I think it's a pity that HTC hasn't able to manage to outsell or make better phones than either Apple or Samsung.

HTC paved the way for Samsung to release countless phones every year from the very low to the high specification.
Apple have their market share by releasing ONE device and improving it.

U find sony phones to be plastic bricks and r happy with samsung's build quality?htc prefer build quality to performance and luk where they stand.i don't give a damn about build quality and so do many people and that's y there r more androids around than symbian.and btw how do u define build quality -gs2 with all plastic manages to survive falls better than iphone 4s.even my se lww has fallen many times but has been working fine.for u build quality is all about metal casing or unibody that doesn't even provide battery access and expandable memory isn't it?.It's more about the performance of the device.infact u r just a hater who just won't luk beyond ur gud old nokia.it's more important to provide gud handsets than just innovating but making poor devices.if u are so keen -
Sony has developed DLNA.i think u know what that is.samsung n htc have inked a deal with sony to provide playstation certification in their future handsets too.u can search more on the net but i think that's enough.now what relevent things have nokia done with it's handsets in these times?nothing i guess atleast it isn't translating into sales.i liked nokia some time back.but what did they do?withdrew from symbian,killed meego and even meltemi.and now gone to wp which is as closed n uncustomizable as the iOS.

And for the Nokia and RIM fanboys out there:
If those two giants go down it's only good for the consumer!
Why? They've become too big and too slow to adapting to new changes (khm... MeeGo anyone?! + high licence fees for both of their app shops --> this hurts small time developers like me and you that have great ideas for your phone and just couldn't execute them because the submission price is too high).
And they just aren't innovative enough anymore and this hurts the consumer in the long run --> If it weren't for Apple we would still be very happy with our Symbian phones for 500€/$.
And THINK before you ask what would be wrong with this picture so you don't make a fool out of yourself!!!

Hmm... troubling news indeed!
I know my next phone will not be a Scamsung (I have a SGS1).
When you see that only two firms collect most of the sales and profits you just stop supporting them, except if you don't value your wallet and don't mind being a sheep.
If this continues, in the long therm (3-5+ years), there will be less innovation and higher prices, because there will be no competition.
I firt thought I would recommend some other smaller alternative firms like HTC or LG, but it's pointless. Try to do some basic research before buying a new phone and if possible stay away from those two brands.
This just shows that manufacturers have to pay for their mistakes (locked bootloader from HTC & terrible support from LG). In this developing new tech you need to execute your every move in favor of the mass developers and customers, if you're too slow to react to their needs and the ever changing market you might end up like Nokia or RIM.
