      Anonymous, 19 Jun 2012psp has about 128ppi.. that's quite bad for the current gen... moreSadly though most of these are features that should've been in PSP ages ago. It lacks so much and between what it lacks, its screen type and size, its length and thickness it leaves so much yarning. As a screen and game player its gorgeous, but everything else....Sony did it again just like PSP and ps3 before it.

              Anonymous, 18 Jun 2012BTW, a PSP has a 4.3" screen and a 480 x 272 pixels, i... morepsp has about 128ppi.. that's quite bad for the current generation screen.. That's why sony released the Vita..
              Vita has a resolution of 960x544 on a 5" screen..
              (√(960²+544²)):5 we get about 220ppi, much better than the PSP..

                AnonD-55045, 18 Jun 2012Oh God, why? Let's clarify some stuff here. 480x320 = 153... morePixel density is dpi(dots per inch) not dpi²(dots per inch square)..

                Therefore to count the ppi firstly we should count the number of pixels on the diagonal, then divide it by the screen diagonal length..
                480x320 on 4" screen= (√(480²+320²)):4
                we get about 144dpi..

                Then how about Full HD on a 20" screen??
                1920x1080 on 20" screen= (√(1920²+1080²)):20
                we get about 110dpi that's less than L5's dpi..

                To proove it we could compare a 20" TV with a PSP which has 480x272 on a 4.3"(that's a less dense screen than L5).. The PSP still looks better..

                PSP = (√(480²+272²)):4.3
                the result is about 128ppi.. still better than a full HD 20" TV.. Try to proove it yourself.. you have a full HD TV right???

                    Overall the specs are not that bad for a low budget 4-inch Droid, but the resolution is horribly low for this screen size.

                      Geez get life people, its a budget device!!! If they would add display with bigger res its obvious that price would be higher! How stupid are you to not understand this? They always must "cut something" to reach the price level.

                                  [deleted post]Oh God, why?
                                  Let's clarify some stuff here.
                                  480x320 = 153.600 pixels
                                  1920x1080 = 2.073.600 pixels
                                  This means a Full HD screen has 13,5 times the pixels of a 480x320 screen. So if your 'logic' was right, the TV should be 54 (4x13,5) inches big, to have the same pixel density.
                                  Even so, the diagonal measure of the screen is not necessarily proportional to its surface (unless we are talking about two rectangles with fixed proportions).
                                  And the most important of all, you won't be looking at your Full HD TV as close as you will look at your smartphone's screen. 480x320 on a 4'' screen is just awful.
