sa11oum, 09 Jul 2020Cute little upgrade, are we up to A12 levels yet?Nope, nowhere close.:)
The kids who only use their phones for gaming are losing their minds, but for those of us who use our phones for actual business and staying connected know that the A13 is still far ahead :)
I guess the suggestion here is that if you cannot afford an actual console plus 65inch UHD tv or a gaming rig with a proper monitor, you should buy some cheap gaming phone that will lose updates in 1 years, loool.
It is so cute to see kids go on about PubG as their only come up for their cheap no name brand gaming phones that are not even sold in most parts of the world probably due to poor quality standards and malware preloaded into those so called gaming phones. :)

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2020How would I know what device you have unless you tell me? ... moreWell here's a hint....stop assuming you know in the first place!!!!!!!

I don't shill, won't deny I have used and continue to own apple products, i also have a few android based items around the place. I am just a fan of tech is all.

But, I’m not dumb enough to believe for a second that Apple, a company with a marketing budget alone that is likely big enough to purchase ASUS outright if they so choose, is unable to muster the engineering prowess necessary to produce a GAMING orientated device like the ROG 2, again if they so choose.

But why would they need to, their existing line up is capable of standing on it's own merits, they don't need to go down such niche avenue's in the hopes of finding some success.

AnonD-893029, 09 Jul 2020oh well that alone proves it then, thanks for clearing that... moreAnandtech is the most Apple biased site in the world.
Since 2010-11 days, they have been covering up for shortcomings of iPhone while praising every overrated feature all the while grilling any top dog Android for their shortcomings.

No surprise that the owner Anand Lal Shimpi went on to work for Apple.
In real world, ROG 2 smokes the iPhone in day to day performance as well as gaming.

Go read both anandtechs review of the ROG2 and the iPhone 11 series, I'm not sure I’m allowed to directly quote here on, but long story short, their findings differ some when compared to your own.

Their conclusion of the A13 GPU is best in class. About the ROG 2 they say that whilst it's GAMING performance is outstanding. It achieves this whilst getting uncomfortably hot to the touch. Guess that ASUS cooling module is not so optional after all eh???

Now I can either take their word for it, or that of some anonymous person on here, Hmmm?????

MrPhong, 09 Jul 2020Of course the ROG Phone smokes an iPhone in gaming easily, ... moreLogic??, he's talking about a ROG phone, the ultimate one trick pony, niche device, like it alone espouse's the virtue and superiority of an OS. A device thats doesn't throttle or over heat at all, even after continuous gaming apparently. Which then begs the question as to why ASUS try to sell you a separate cooling device?......seems like a bit of a con to me, but hey ho.

It's a gaming phone, designed for that single purpose. Stick iOS and an A13 in that kind of chassis, and you'd get an experience every bit as potent for GAMING.

It is available on iOS too but obviously capped at 60fps due to hardware bottleneck on 1500$ device.

You have to turn down certain things in gfx settings, turn off Bluetooth so that network performance isn't affected, close apps in memory and
Still it will overheat after couple of hours.

ROG 2 has no such issues. Can use Bluetooth headphones since it has 4 WiFi antennas and performance is not compromised over wireless networks. Also chipset doesn't throttle after continuous gaming. And you don't have to close background apps during gaming to prevent app reloads.

And they call it the optimised OS.
                                ROFL.
