Bogdan, 09 Jul 2020Lol true. Everybody hates Apple, but everybody copies Apple... moreTake this with a pinch of salt.
Everyone knows Samsung is just teasing this to check response of the end users.
Most likely they won't go ahead with the decision to omit the charger.

ithehappy, 08 Jul 2020Is this a joke played by Apple and Samsung and whoever is c... moreWTF is the consumer rights protection,
like right to repair, we have to activily fight this. everything essential for something to work for the full time of warranty peroid should not be sold separately. Every customer within a country has same standard electricity grid's voltage, ac frequency, waveform, plug type etc. Hence everybody doesn't need specialized charger custom built for their needs. So should not be sold separately. It should be zero cost option, consumer should be able decide whether another charger is e waste or not.
                  imagine a scenario,
if a car is sold to you without wheels and you have "THE OPTION" to buy basic or expensive wheels separately.
And as a consumer you have the right(sarcasm) to have the new car trucked to your garage without wheels, (analogous to phone battery charged from the factory).

I said this in a different post, maybe 2 weeks ago. They all laughed at me.
                    Now..revenge. lol.
But seriously now, you all know that the future of phones will look like this. No chargers, no wires, no ports. You just wait and see.
Everybody is spitting bad things left and right, but in the end everybody will follow and accept this. Like good sheep.

Rk100, 08 Jul 2020I wonder what the android fanboys think about this now. App... moreLol true. Everybody hates Apple, but everybody copies Apple in the end, especially if that change brings them money.
Is funny how some people say Apple is greedy, while in reality every company is equally greedy.
Why do you think companies remove the headphone jack? Because they saw how Apple airpods are selling (by the way, is the most sold Apple product). Now every phone company is making his own pair/pairs of wireless headphones.
They try to make all this good excuses, try to wrap the words nicely for the people (like we are doing it for the environment and stuff), but in the end is all about the money.
That is why I am telling everybody, don't be a fanboy of a company or another, by a fanboy of yourself and your money, is the best way. Maybe it looks selfish, but is healthy. lol.

Rk100, 08 Jul 2020I wonder what the android fanboys think about this now. App... moreApple already did it since long time, Apple provide a 5 Watts charger, it no different from without charger.

Rk100, 08 Jul 2020Do you also hate Samsung as well for doing this? Seems a bi... moreOK for environment! if we really believe that crap then they should drop 50$ of the package price, they sell fast charger with that cost.

Dont trust anything they say. Its just pure greed

Jimbob, 09 Jul 2020Well do you want a useless charger or lower price? I'l... morelower price as 5$? you already pay 1200$.

BigBabyChuncks, 09 Jul 2020Well, I haven't used the charger from the phone box in... moreThe problem is they will not drop the charger price, the will make you pay for the charger and you will not give it to you. I promise this will happen. also you know that when you get the charger with retail package it is much much cheaper with you buy it separately.

Few years later they will remove the phone from retail package, hopefully you can get at lease the manual instruction, and the price will be 100x of the now price.
Those greedy creature want people to pay more for less

Well, I haven't used the charger from the phone box in years since I have my multiport chargers and wireless chargers throughout my house and in my car so I don't really care if they remove it. Same thing with the headphones. If, in turn they lower the price of the retail box and the retailer would offer a charger at a discount if bought alongside a new phone I don't see a problem with it. It's all just speculation untill we actually see how manufacturers and retailers play this one out.

Well do you want a useless charger or lower price? I'll take the lower price

I don't understand why Android OEMs have to follow Apple's stupid moves to sell well in the market. If anything, people would actually be more inclined towards them if Apple continues their anti-consumer habits until no one supports them to what they're doing.
It is the people who should be dictating what's good for them and not the manufacturers. The fact that budget and mid range devices today are packed with more essential features than most flagships today indicate just how crazy the world is getting right now. Especially this Note series, which once meant "no-compromise" line of phones back in the day, and really did offered more for their asking prices.

And no, not everyone is wasting their chargers. Many of them even keep their old chargers for other useful purposes, such as being a power bank charger and powering other USB port products. Besides, it's not like people are purchasing new phones every 6 months, unless of course they're really that rich to replace their phone so frequently. And there's nothing wrong about millions of people buying new phones every year. Third party chargers are dangerous, except for those from reputable brands, but even then, nothing's better than using the original charger that came with the phone in the box.
Besides, if they really want to reduce electronic wastes, why don't they just conduct a program where phones and other electronic gadgets that are going to be abandoned would all be gathered up and be recycled instead for future products, given that they're still usable?
There are many ways to save the environment without compromising the convenience of the consumers, manufacturers are just too stubborn to think practically.
