Now all of a sudden WP8 needs dual core processors, after them telling for months they are a waste of time. They cannot even lie intelligently!

That's stran... moreAs I said many months ago and everyone said I was being a fool and very cynical; by forcing manufacturers to go Single core they were deliberately building in obsolescence to 7.x devices to get out of providing 8 upgrades to them. I have great difficulty believing that 7.x devices cannot run on dual core devices even if they cannot fully take advantage of them. Tell me I am wrong now! I saw this coming months ago when they would not give a straight answer to the simple question will 7.x devices get updated. Now we know why!

But i think that there might be some budget devices coming with single core cpu's running wp8 in the future just like a desire c or xperia tipo which with such low specs have ICS onboard while devices like galaxy w and other better specced devices r not able to get ICS.
The same theory can be applied here.also considering the fact from wp 7.5 to wp 8 that it's a major OS transition.there won't be a more radical change after that.

And for my tech knowledge android was never able to fully use the dual core hardware except for some apps and games . And for that devs should be given credit not google. And by ur comments i believe u already used windows phone 8 and compared it with ics sir. And i have already given explanation for ics running on lower spec phones and for ur kind information iam an android user not windows.

AnonD-18905, 21 Jun 2012Every one has to accept the fact that Windows phone 8 is no... morei9100g user here and while I myself say that Android are still a ways to go code efficient wise, that's a major cop out by MS and hurts Nokia more as a device partner. Everyone hollered that ICS would suck craptacularly on single core SoC but guess what buddy HTC did relatively well with its a bit lowly specced One V w/ Sense on top to boot.

People aren't mad just for kicks. This just proves that WP7/7.5 was an act of desperate proof of concept for both MS and Nokia, the latter being the dumber of dumb for putting out not just 1 but count Lumia 900, 800, 710 and 610? Thank heavens for the N9 hw guys if not for their polycarbonate chassis design there wouldn't be an 800 in the 1st place.

This is why MS shouldn't close down insider infos and specs to select device partners if unsure of what they're doing. Both hw and sw roadmaps should have been very clear and judging by the current WP7.5 numbers this was a card worth holding instead of having risked the current adopters' ire when this should have been an easy win.

Hope both MS and Nokia can get their shit together ffs.

As a Nokia Belle owner I'm disappointed to see Nokia treating its customers so badly, and aware that I'm probably going to need to find a different manufacturer for my next phone

Its a matter of how the company calls it.apple sayes that 3gs will be geting a uptdate for ios 6.does it have all the features?no then its not ios 6 its some sort of lover version.with wp its the same thing only they dont lie like apple.they dont say that u will get the latest version and in fact u will get only some of the features.in both ios 6 for 3gs and wp7.8 u get the look and some of the feature its exactly the same thing only the companies market them diferently.and to be honest apple is not telling the truth because if it hasnt got all the features the u cant call it ios 6

Now that they're able to support them, it seems that magically multicore CPUs are needed to run the latest WP version... even the latest Android runs on older hardware and single core CPU...

Anyway, I agree: Microsoft should have been smarter and should have called it "WP 8 Lite" or something. Or do like Apple: just call it WP 8 and remove some features.
