>You really think that qualified workers in thos... moreWow,you really took your time. Why are you so pissed if somebody have an opinion? You're calling me a troll because you're furious because I have different opinion than you. What are my sources?I've stated my sources,BBC, Reuters, Nokia and Ericsson own websites, several articles here at GSMA,among other similar web portals, they're not relevant because you say so?
Labor costs are not that significant? What do you think why Samsung closed it's factories in China, political, economical, cultural reasons?Or a simple fact that Chinese worker on asembly line is making $2/hr and the same worker in Vietnam or Cambodia makes $3-4 a day,you do the math.. Bought Galaxy S10, it says "Made in Vietnam" on the back,I don't mind, don't care, but surely there'll be people against it,they don't like Vietnam for whatever reason.I think it's a beautiful country, and great people.
You're furious about communist company Huawei, what about other Chinese companies?Lenovo, Xiaomi for example.. They're private companies founded by private money. You hate them too because you hate everything from China, some racism here I see?Or you hate the fact Lenovo is world's biggest PC& Laptop manufacturer,a giant in network tech too,Xiaomi is No.4 smartphone manufacturer with tendency to grow.. I'm not Huawei "fanboy",I use Xiaomi devices cause they offer great value for my $$.,plus I appreciate their idea of building their vast ecosystem, including hundreds of "smart" products, and I'm thinking of buying their el.scooter, they're everywhere in my city, people love them. You hate those too?China is spying on people using el.scooters too? They're monitoring my movements? I'm sure if they do they'll be happy to see me doing a whellie on Mi scooter,It'll make their sorry, communist day, surely... peace

>You really think that qualified workers in those countries will work for $2/h,like in China?
The labor cost is not as significant a factor as you think in technology, actual production costs of Intel CPUs are cents or dimes per unit, even cutting retail price by half only costs them cash flow and the ability to further invest in research and equipment, far from selling at a loss. There's a reason they call a foundry a mint. SpaceX could get people up to the space station for much cheaper than China, or any country, and you think it's because they have cheaper labor? In terms of white collar salary and advanced labor China's costs are catching up fast, in a company like Huawei, they're not paying lower than Ericsson. It's lack of IP protection, a walled off domestic market under the iron grip of a despot, contracts grossly rigged in Huawei's favor, and direct infusions from state owned financial institutions that's enabled Huawei to grow from a mere blueprint stealing thug a decade ago to a vicious global threat today.

>Last week Nokia admitted their CPU,the brain that powers 5G hardware
Get your most basic facts straight, troll. AAUs are controlled by FPGAs, not CPUs! And China lacks any capability to manufacture FPGAs, where Xilinx reigns supreme. As for the CPUs Huawei use, we see them use Intel in their notebooks, and Kirin in phones(now more than half their revenue) based on ARM's Axx and Gxx architectures. Huawei purchased $16 billion worth of chips from the US in 2019, that's $5 billion more than 2018, in fact this number should reach a new height in 2020 because they're more aggressively stocking up on chips they can't make!

Your evidence? Show your evidence or take your laughable Huawei lies somewhere else, these are western countries you're talking about not China where evidence inconvenient to the Party is too often erased. I linked to two articles from a highly technical media outlet specialized in reportage of the 5G industry that in the majority of occasions takes on the stance of stern Huawei and ZTE supporters, all their past articles proof of their stance and legitimacy are accessible from the hyperlink found on the pages(China blocked US media, UK media, then Japanese media, German media, most recently Indian media and quite possibly others that I don't know of with their Great Firewall but they don't prevent access to Wechat the other way around), had they known these numbers would result in the truth about Huawei being exposed abroad they wouldn't have reported them. It's the truth, I know it's difficult for somebody as challenged as you are but try wrapping your mind around that.

harwey, 15 Jul 2020Yes,2-3 times,in some countries possibly even more,like,say... moreYes, very much agree with you. Moreover, sometime the reason Nokia or Ericsson won the bid because operator doesnt want their existing hardware from Nokia or Ericsson abandon, or let Huawei control the price (in case Huawei got all the footprint area) or dictate customer. It is a sad truth that many people pro free market but they dont even realized that Huawei is socialism (fund and supported by government) and at the same time give us great and cheap technology. It is dilemma, but people need to know this.

Mohit, 15 Jul 2020Because when you buy anything cheaper, you are the product. Not really. It's also the same with Samsung and Apple.
Samsung puts extra adware in their phones recently and keeps pushing Exynos models at a high price tag (despite good looking phones). Sales in certain countries have cheated.
Apple gives you muppet products, so you are unlikely to switch to other OEMs and risk locking up in their ecosystem (forcing you to spend on premium products).
We can agree that Chinese brands spy on you (ex. Xiaomi) and sell data but this is also the case with many large tech brands.
If you want to be safe, feel free to revert to two cups and a string. Safest method of calling people.

Carol, 15 Jul 2020So lez me guess, Nokia that practically invented The GSM ne... moreYou dont understand what this is about. What he said is actually true. From technology perspective, Huawei 5G is the leader stated by many operator. For Nokia case, nokia make wrong decision for the design of their hardware, impact to uncompetitive price among others. From pricing, Huawei is the cheapest and flexible with many discounts. From market share 2G to 4G right now around the world, Huawei also the leader even Ericsson and Nokia joined together. But HOOOOOW?
Many professional who works in telecommunication sector know this. Huawei get funded or loan by government. They make their hardware cheaper due to labour cost. They pay smaller for their professional worker non-china outside its country. They prioritize its chinese people, put more money in RnD because they have money and people.
I would say, Huawei is great on paper, but unethical in the way they run business.

I'd rather have US companies that are accountable (to a certain extent) to people in a democratic country over a State funded PLA cyber unit have access to my personal data and phone call recordings.
We are in Cold War 2, and we need to chose sides. I shudder in fear over a Han chinese dominated world when you'd be in constant surveillance and 'removed' if found 'unpatriotic'
