          Clearly political decision.
          Proxy war...

            In the meantime :
The German cabinet is set to decide whether to make it easier for intelligence agencies to install spyware on computers and phones to monitor encrypted communication. Messaging services such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal use end-to-end encryption, making it hard to monitor. Under the proposed new law, technology companies could be obliged to send spyware to a user's device, hidden as an app or software update, which could access a user's microphone, camera and texts.

If Huawei is doing something bad, it will be the telecom companies that will now of the strange things their equipment doing.

I haven't heard any telecommunications company saying anything about Huawei. This purely political.

It's weird how they're justifying this. They're basically saying that they can't guarantee the security of Huawei equipment because Huawei will have to rely on 3rd party chips due to the US ban on TSMC supplying chips to Huawei. But if Huawei can find a new fab for their chips then they're fine?

Have you seen the bids of these companies?https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fmp.weixin.qq.com%2Fs%2FtB_cUBHbXQ7RkRQqifXh3Q
Huawei is 50% more expensive than Nokia and wins nearly half the entire project, Nokia bids the lowest by far and wins 0.47%!!

In another bid, they had to underbid Huawei by 75%(I can only assume that for some reason they need to keep their JV in China--Nokia Shanghai Bell--alive, even at significant loss) only to win 22% of the contract!!

See how Huawei is the Party's prized pet now? They got this far because every aspect of their domestic business was rigged in their favor. Their wares aren't cheap, if they undercut others abroad then it's guaranteed that's subsidized by China's policy banks, which was the reason they triggered EU's anti-dumping investigations.

A British soul would rather trust the Chinese Dictatorship.
Oh boy. The Fake News has really brainwashed you!

What has Huawei done wrong? This is not a way to make the UK a 5G ready country.

UK carriers will pay for 2-3 times more expensive network by Nokia, not better, faster, more advanced in any way, just way more expensive. No competition allowed, that must be what they call free/open market, and market economy. No monopoly in UK either..51st state led by Boris "The Blade"?ffs, lol

Oof, things do not look good for Huawei. A part of me really wanted to get the mate 30 pro. Having 3d face unlock with an Android was something I wanted to try.. but, I don't see things getting better for the company here in the states.

Not that this uk article changed my mind. Though I did read something the other day that said if the government in the us went through with some order that people using Huawei phones in the US would be without service for several days. Not good.

Great news for UK. After hearing the comments the Chinese Embasaddor in the UK did, no wonder we all need to cut ties from those Chinese companies.
