It does not take a genius to figure out that the owner did not use a legit charger. Overvoltage damages phones in different ways. I seriously doubt that anything is wrong with the GS3 apart from its defective high price.
Stop blaming a solid product people. Get an original charger or, at least, check for correct voltage. I use a Sony Ericsson NeoV running ICS 4.0.3 so no fan hardknocks please.

So always use sony brand phones they are highly tested by their own companies and also they are really far better then samsung

where did he use the phone becz if u out of country and u use gs3 charger on high volt, this what happen. becz it happened to me. i live in USA and i went INDIA for month. USA volt 250 something and India 450 volt power. my phone battery explode and charger die. SO i replace new battery and bought new charger and it work.

I have a s3 and mine got too hot to hold when i was using the gps and agps. I had to take out the battery and let it cool down!!
