Samsung Galaxy S III explodes, causes still unknown

I have HTC Sensation that sometimes heats up bit too much to be considered normal. Initially I thought its due to metal casing but now I feel its might be a problem. What you say guys?

I work for o2 and the most common factor of phones overheating is when they are on charge with the wrong charger. Please, ALWAYS use the charger supplied and if youre buying extra consult your instruction manual. Just because its got the same charging port doesnt mean the charger is ment for your phone.

So i dont think samsung could have replaced it without warranty. So dont just judge by your assumption.

Imagine what would happen if you would let an S3 unsupervised at home, while charging. If this does happen, your whole house would catch fire... what a dangerous phone!

I's imagine that in all seriousness it was due to the charger it was attached to in the car, probably a fake cheap one that wasn't the correct voltage

Its a bad time for samsung not because of explosion, but apple is going to sue samsung for copying their exploding phone patent.... Lol....
If there is a like button i'll be getting more hits....
Apart from explosion it's a good phone especially the auto turnoff when you close your eyes....
P.S.- I'm not a samsung fanboy as i'm a sony droid and nokia's fanboy....

I'm dreaming of Galaxy S-lll because of the amount of pre-orders.I can't believe it.As you know SEEING IS BELIEVING SO I'm still trying to own a S-lll.

it is not an isolated case: iPhone made its bang smoking on an airplane , earlier a 3gs in France exploded its display etc... so fast selling phones are explosive & exciting :)

My sympathies with the guy...i might reconsider buying a samsung phone again bcoz i have a wave 8500 and it too gets hot sometimes while charging or running heavy apps or multiple programmes..

First, Sympathies to the guy who faced the incident, Very unfortunate but I'm glad that he is safe.
The guy said that the Phone was not Charging at the time of this incident.I am skeptical if thats the entire truth.
By looking at the pics, the area around the antenna/mouth piece burned out. The charging port is a bit smeared.Need thorough investigation.
The Mount which was used has metal bar/springs to hold the phone where the Antenna of the phone is placed internally. The guy says that he has SATNAV on while the incident happened and another gentleman from the same forum believes that there is chance (although low probability) that this kind of mechanism of the mount can generate fair level of heat which can trigger a spark in side the antenna.
The dash board of the car can heat up to max if there is a problem with altenor or Battery. but if the car i healthy, I dont think heating system has anything to do with this unless the phone is connected to the cars electric wiring.
After the burn the Phone is Still working ,SCREEN is UP, ALL TOUCH FUNCTIONS are INTACT , but no NETWORK. Now, Its evident that the CPU is not the CULPRIT here.
Lets wait for the official statement from Samsung after the investigations.
