Chinese bought the "Whole" Browser Business of Opera... That includes Opera for Android, Opera Mini, Opera VPN, Opera Beta, Opera for Mac, Windows, iOS, Everywhere it was available before ... Even new Opera GX browser for Windows or Android.. Everything that was under Opera name before is now bought by Chinese... And now under their control... So it's better to stay away from Opera Products...

Whole Consumer Business was bought by them(chinese)... If you liked old opera, try Vivaldi browser, it's a new browser made by one of Opera's Founder and Old CEO

I am much happier with Vivaldi's performance and with its looks than I ever was with FF. And all without the political pandering by the Mozilla brigade.

Opera use to have a dedicate client for VPN, but since the acquisition of the Chinese entity and the change of legislation for VPN in China, Opera has since then remove the dedicate VPN client.

And there were a huge backlash in the Opera community regarding the announce of the potential acquisition, and after that Opera has being quite about it. They manage to keep it under the radar pretty well with no immediate official announcement on if the deal happened.

Might as well remove Linux and install Windows 7.

Was Operas' business sold to the Chinese or was it just their VPN service?

I dislike the overall Firefox experience on Android but use it on Windows.

Brave on Android and Windows was also not a stellar experience so got rid of it.

Opera has been a great browser for me but I've had issues with their VPN not working at all even after a fresh windows install so just stopped using it and it's great I stopped long time ago.
Also found a browser based on chrome called SR WARE IRON that's made in Germany -anyone use this browser?

Firefox for mobile does have a bit of a poor UI but you should try Firefox Preview, that blows everything away.
They're soon gonna make Firefox for Android into Firefox Preview anyway.

LOL Linux users are last again. I use FF exclusively on my Linux laptop, and yet I am left behind. When MS Edge is supported on Linux, I will ditch FF. This treament of Linux users is unforgivable.

apparently, Opera VPN has discrepancy on their marketing material and the actual usage agreement.

Opera VPN is confirmed to collect data and probably sell the data.
