Indian consumers are extremely reliant on Chinese products (i.e. phones) and always want minimum price with better specs (not build quality). No wonder Xiaomi and realme releases a plethora of models even price-conscious markets in SE Asia are missing out some models. And the recent backfire between China teaches India a lesson.

Terms like BoycottChina looks fine for discussing on social media platforms, but when someone actually checks the prices of non-chinese products for the same offered specifications, they are upto 50% more in many of the cases. In this COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide extended lockdown, many people have lost their jobs and cannot afford to pay more for mobile phones. There are only few (Apple and Samsung) alternatives available for non-chinese phones. Base model of cheapest Apple iPhone SE (2020) costs more than most of the Android mid-rangers and therefore is out of normal consumer's budget. Samsung had launched too many models in the market that people gets confused about the specifications and price of various models. Other than these two brands, remaining brands are almost non-existant in India.
