Compared to cheap iphone that just launched a couple months back... Good because it has big battery, lots of camera...

compared to other android phone... it just another phone. but good, more choice...

All budget phones are overhyped. A used/refurbished OnePlus 7 pro is better and cheaper.

Overhyped. Its actually the same as Realme & Redmi product segment. The only saving grace are Oxygen OS. Not to say its bad though.

The next Nord phone will be priced slightly higher, and it'll go on and on until the Oneplus Nord series has to release a midrange sub-series because their prices got out of hand.

Looks like a decent phone. But i dont trust Oneplus. I bought the X and they didnt support it for long. The size is too big as well. I have Mi 9 se right now, and thats 147mm tall. If Pixel 4a is smaller like the rumours say (144) and around the same price as Nord i might upgrade. But so far 9 SE has been awesome

Glad that most people see that it just doesn't work.
Sure, the display is awesome for this price, I'll give it that, but it stops there.
You cannot have SD865 devices at $500 and be selling a 765G one for close to that.
My biggest letdown however was the cameras.
8mp wide and 8mp wide selfie are barely usable unless light conditions are perfect and adding that 2MP macro is an insult.
Overall, giving the phone an outdated sensor when IMX686 is available and a bunch of unusable cameras is just bad.
Putting in a better ultrawide or 3x optical zoom and skipping the macro and ultrawide selfie would have been the way to go.
Plus that huge cutout on the front could have looked so much better with a single 32MP selfie unit.
Just feelsike so many rushed decisions here.
Oh, and the build quality - plastic sides on a $450 phone? Really Oneplus?

I watched their hype videos that showcased the design process and fluff about listening to what their customers want and then this comes out. Lol it's like they ran out of time and just said "Welp drop everything and ask cousin oppo for surplus reno 3 pro frames and cameras. Everybody wants more cameras right?" *crosses fingers.
Why a glass build when there is no wireless charging anyway? They could have just released something that looks close to the op 3 and 5 without the extra cameras, made everything metal with updated specs and I would be happy.

gorden, 26 Jul 2020What's the point of a macro and a depth camera? Liter... moreA macro camera is interesting for basically anyone who is REALLY into photography (meaning something more subtle and interesting than a selfie or of the salad they are eating), and depth camera, if they were higher resolution, would change dramatically the quality of the picture and open lot of possibilities, it is a basic knowledge at this point that half of the picture quality of smartphone is software and the rest is hardware, and they way it work can take use of many sensors working together to enhance the final result.

NEVER buy a phone whose manufacturer imposes embargo on reviewers to not show any camera samples despite the fact that the phone is available for orders. Literally selling a pig in a poke.

Crooks from OnePlus can shove their dual-punch hole, 2MP macro sensor, "fake" depth sensor, no SD card slot, no headphone jack 449 usd phone up their "new beginnings" butts. No thanks from me.

It is a fine phone but...

What the hell is going on with every cheap phone having crappy marco and depth camera, get away with it.

Good regular camera, a ultrawide and maybe a telephoto are enough, and more usefull too.

No SD card reader. No 3.5mm headphone jack. Useless 2MP macro lens, and equally useless 5MP TOF lens. No 3x or even 2x telephoto lens (8MP like on the Motorola Edge would've been great).
The only advantages I see are the healthy amounts of RAM and the promise of Oxygen OS software updates. OK, and the finally decent sized screen (6.44in) with 90Hz refresh rate, instead of yet another 6.7in which is way too large. OnePlus missed the opportunity with both the regular 8 and now the Nord.

What's the point of a macro and a depth camera?
                                        Literally for bragging purposes.
